Do you remember The Farm?

A bunch of Scouse scallies. On their Stepping Stone 12" the cover featured a sheep. A sheep in a bucket hat, a pair of denim flairs and Kicker boots. Their comment on the Madchester scene.

I think it makes more sense now with the Oasis marketing. Do you have your Adidas bucket hat? The official Berghaus drug dealers jacket? The fake Man City top with Oasis branding?

I think from a podcast with Frank Skinner, The Farm were originally pencilled in to do the Euro 96 song, some kind of remix of All Together Now but then did the Everton cup final song in 1995 which the FA thought was too close to be in fans mind so went with Baddiel and Skinner instead.

The best criticism of Oasis I have seen is from the lead singer of Bloc Party, who said the tragedy of Oasis is as Beatles fans they don’t understand the Beatles were about experimentation. Always finding something new... where as Oasis are repetitive Luddites. Noel just takes the veneer of John Lennon.

I Like Oasis. Particularly the early work. But... it’s not the second coming.

Wonderwall, pure cheese. Unlistenable.

I'm at Heaton Park tomorrow.

I cannot wait.

Think what you like of their music, the price of the tickets blah blah.

It will be a fantastic experience to see them live again with a crowd united and loving the moment!

I'm glad it's been so well received. . Seen them a few times from 95 on and last time at Heaton park wasn't great with an air of menace to the crowd all day, far removed from the Stone Roses in same venue. Crowds seem far more receptive this time and not heard a bad word , have a good un

To be fair, they weren't better than either of those two in 1990 either.  The Wedding Present are aging like a fine wine. I still maintain that Seamonsters is one of the finest albums ever recorded.

Pleased to tell you that you couldn't be further from the truth.
It was simply outstanding and worth every penny. Cast and Richard Ashcroft were both faultless as the support acts, but Oasis were simply on another level. Liams voice is as good as its ever been. Worth every penny!

£165. Which considering the last time I saw them in 2009 it was £40, is expensive.

However, to get acts like Cast and Richard Ashcroft supporting, as part of that price and when Oasis are playing in the way that they are in these shows, they are simply in my opinion the greatest rock and roll band ever. I would actually happily pay double that.

I’m so jealous of you. I tried like mad for tickets with no luck.

The people slagging them off are just making themselves look silly. If you don’t like them fair enough, but why try and belittle them. It’s obvious to everyone Oasis are smashing it. What a band.

Just as a comparison Bob Dylan, no support, £125 next November so your £165 isn't bad value.

I’m going in a few weeks and it was the best part of £350 (including a ridiculous booking fee).

I was incredibly lucky that I got mine through the original ballot.

Then also got upgraded to Front Standing.

I keep looking on Twickets and other resale websites for my wife and her friends but Twickets ones get snapped up either by bots or people in seconds and the other resale sites are just ridiculous prices.

Ballot for me as well. It was dynamic pricing so think it differed quite wildly from place to place.

One of the mates that lived on Allerton St that had a couple of VW campers(including a split screen) had bought tickets for him and his girlfriend for loads of concerts at the dome. He phoned me up to tell me they'd split up,and being from Yorkshire I thought it was too good an opportunity to let pass. Maybe a bit insensitive, but ended up with Cast,Prodigy,Black Grape and a couple of other tickets for free.
After all,you have to take care of your mates when they are going through a break up

Went on Tuesday and missed Cast (they were on at 6, Oasis not out until 8.15) but did see Richard Ashcroft who was great. Oasis themselves were absolutely brilliant - no danger of them going through the motions. Surely no one else out there who can compete with them these days.

The pitch was basically one big mosh pit and at pushing 40 I think I’m a bit too old for it these days. Lots of beer flung in the air (I will never, ever understand that one), a fight breaking out during the first number and a guy falling like a tree with about 15 minutes to go (and not getting up) a - basically a full house on the Oasis bingo card.
