of played ?

Sorry, I will endeavour to try and tailor posts to the geriatric population in future

I know this is OP but that is a crass & pathetic attempt at deflecting an unwarranted defamation of a poster whose posts go back further & have far more credence than yours.

A simple apology ‘might’ not be beyond you?

Let’s wait & see.

No need to wait……. No! Some old kitson wants to jump on my posts with a barb then they will get it back

If you can’t display a basic grasp of the English language you really should expect to be pulled up LDR.

Yours sincerely,

Old Kitson.

Why ??

Ldr. I was taught, a long time ago, that criticisms are jewels to be treasured. One may not agree with them, but one should always, always, think about them. If you don't, how are you ever going to learn anything about yourself?

What you are displaying right now is the defensive aggressive reaction of someone who is both insecure and unable to reflect. It is immature, callow and superficial. More enlightened folk use occasions like this to pause, think and consider changes.

A final truth one should bear in mind is that reactions like that which you have displayed will significantly limit the number, and quality, of the criticisms that you will be offered throughout your life. That, of course, will severely limit both your personal development, and, your successful life progression. Think on...

While I agree with your op-ed regarding 'criticism' but don't always follow the teachings Bob, peddancy is a blight on the forum and leads to unnecessary rancour.

Moncaster I think I will start another thread and leave the spat to others, forgot to mention Copps was there today which was nice to see.
For those that are interested my musings over yesterdays game v Barnsley and Max Adamson  is half way down page two before the English lesson if your wondering what is going on.

Just watched an extended VLOG by a Harrogate fan showing lots of open play.

As many football fans do, including our own, regard players as being sh*te until proven different. Tom Anderson and many others getting that sort of treatment when any little mistake is made, so listening to the comments from Town fans, Bobby is no different but we know it doesn't take that much to get fans onside.

To the match, Bobby not at fault for any of the three goals. First headed goal from a well delivered corner when Shepherd peeled off an attacked the ball. Second, a well worked one two that took the Harrogate defense out with McGoldrick dinking the ball over the keeper. Third, dying minutes, player had loads of time just outside the box to curl one into the top corner.

Barnsley played some neat on the deck football with Harrogate hardly laying a glove on them for 20 mins until Bobby, telegraphed a pass into midfield which got intercepted, but he redeemed himself by blocking the through ball which led to Harrogate breaking and having an effort on goal.

The other major incident was Bobby sold his full back a bit short with a pass to the touchline, which the Barnsley striker intercepted then tried to take on Bobby on the outside. As they got to the byline Bobby gave him the shoulder (as you would expect) knocking the Bansley lad off balance. Unfortunately there's hardly any run off and the lad slid into the fence which made the situation look alot worse than it was. Cue the abuse from Barnsley vans. Had it been anywhere else where there's much more room behind the goal, I'm sure the ref would have just given a goalkick. Bobby did nowt wrong.

Overall, he did nothing really well or really bad but just like any new signing, he'll have to work to get into the fans good books. It will be the sane for our new centre half's who'll get compared to Olowu and Anderson.

Thanks DBR, interesting to get an alternative perspective.

Just watched the pitch side blog of the MK Dons game, and like Barnsley against Harrogate the Rovers looked like they could pierce the Dons defence at will especially wide and up front have a few goals in us.
If we can be solid we could have something to build on over the season, consistency will be the key.
Barnsley certainly looked far better than the teams we played last season against a Harrogate side nowhere  near the standard we were at last season and start off the season knowing anything above the bottom two is success, but R.otherham not so impressive.

Should of been a question mark at the end of that.

That Yoganathan for Barnsley looks a player. Only 19.

ncRover, they (Barnsley) looked a good big fast side all round and could well be a team in the top half, but its just one game preseason and we have all seen false dawns of individual as well as full sides at this time of the year.
And like Walsall last season we have all seen the difference how much losing one or two players to transfer or injury can make to a team  over a season.
