A good half with crisp passing, a few scares at the back but I reckon we edged it with some good forward moves.

If Middleton keeps whipping balls in like that we're going to need someone to get on the end of them. Is Hanlan the man? I'll reserve judgement but he has to do more than that first half for me.

Unsure on Hanlan. Early days but doesn’t look to be the handful we were promised. They are sitting back a lot which never helps us

Pearson is good in the air but going to be a liability overall. Might as well have kept Wood or Anderson. Think the younger lads will earn their place eventually

Ajayi for Clifton could be an interesting sub at some point in the second half.

Ironside would be begging for these crosses from Middleton!!

It's an obvious change, but I don't get the hate for Clifton. He's had our best chance (half a yard wide with the glancing header) and made a really nice turn but was fouled by their player (should have been a yellow).

Middleton looks good. He can cross with either foot and only seems to need an inch of space to put a decent ball in.

We are solid if a little uninspiring otherwise.

Anyone going to comment on Molyneux's passing? Obviously still recovering from the Sal (I think his right foot may still physically be in the Sal).

Clifton does well imo don’t get the hate. Only one to actually get on the end of a cross too. He puts some work in so is usually ready for a change at 60min.

I think some of the first half comments are a little harsh. We are best team by some way. Middleton has delivered some quality crosses. We need someone on the end of them! Exeter sitting and have come for a point. Up to us to find a way.

Not sure on the negativity,  it's a typical 1st match of the season where neither team wants to lose.

The game wont open up until 65-70 minutes.

Confirmed as a concussion sub, so we still have 5 subs. Exeter have 6.

I don’t think I was being negative just giving a honest opinion, we’ve played some neat stuff but we haven’t made their keeper work anymore than they have TLT

Middleton looking very good. Hanlan not really in the game yet. Time for Sharp?

Hanlan looks like he is probably good in training...

Summary:
TLT will entertain but give me a coronary
Pearson is too slow
Middleton looks good
We have no creative spark in midfield and a lack of pace

R.E  Pearson,I thought the same about Anderson and Wood when they first joined us,it took alot a games for them to prove me wrong,he is slow but you dont play as many games at the level he has without been good enough,as the game has progressed,he has done some decent forward passes and his positioning been spot on and seems to have a good footballing brain,I'm hopeful he will become just as much a defensive kingpin for us this season than Big Tom And Woody

He can organise the defensive line but he would be a real worry against someone with pace

there’s no hate. That’s a strong word. Just an observation of a poor footballer for league 1 standards. It’s not his fault.

True, but hopefully GM will adapt the team when needed,we have Grehan and McGrath to utilise too.

Commentary on sky poor.

The lass is OK but just really reciting facts and figures - not really involving the listener or getting excited....
I switched on Gillette Soccer Saturday only to find the vast majority of ground reporters are women also - have to say I don't really understand the obsession..

Reminded me a bit of that JT miss against Harrogate on the opening day a couple of years ago. Any sort of composure and both would have been a goal.
