Gibson.

Needs to bottle some of that emotion from today’s game and keep it for the rest of the season, one hell of a performance from the lad, the abuse aimed at him from the City fans was atrocious, however he answered them in the correct manner ‘on the pitch’ loved it when he was subbed, showed a massive pair of stones and walked past the lot of them with a massive grin on his face ! Loved it ! Oh and then there’s the fat lad from Sheffield giving it to them with his chicken walk ! I thought Billy had one hell of a game his strength and power at holding the ball up was outstanding!

Billy has been outstanding this season. Still plenty of him left to offer.

Pure Shithouse from Gibson walking past the Bradford fans after being subbed  :crying:

Gibbo took his goal superbly. Composure and precision. And what a cross for the opener. Loved that he walked past the away fans. No words necessary. Talking was done on the pitch.

When he was through on goal he could have laid it off, I was shouting there’s no way he’s laying it off, he wants to score, and to top it off goal giving it large in front of the chickens after the abuse he got from them

I spoke to him in the car park last week and told him that he just needed to start believing in himself and the end product would come. Was outstanding today along with many others.

He will verify the exchange. Surprised I didn’t get a mention in his Radio Sheff interview to be honest.

He did his defensive stuff as well, winning and keeping possession much better than he has done in the past. Superb performance along with Billy who's using every ounce of his experience and ability to lift the overall standards of the players around him.

I’ve been critical of gibbo on more than 1 occasion, but my god I’m happy to eat humble pie when he puts a shift like that in.

He’s got the most technical ability that’s for sure.

Clearly there’s talent there with him and from interviews he comes across as a real likeable guy. Maybe just one of them players who needs an arm around the shoulder rather than the tough love approach

Hes well up there,
but he rarely plays 2 games alike. It seems to be if he starts well he has a good came, if he starts poorly he often has a poor game.

I was surprised to see him in the starting line up, then I said to my mate, maybe Grant using some guile here and he’s hoping the the ‘Bradford’ effect will kick in ! Well if that was Grants plan it worked a treat.

I garbled something similar to him at the Sal last season, so I'm taking the credit for today!

Although belief in his ability has never been widespread on here, it is very evident from the way he works with Moly and Sterry that they share mutual confidence. He also combined well with Billy today. And there was the satisfaction of a real end product.

I wasn't a fan at first , I could see the speed etc but sometimes lost the ball and didn't chase back , overhit corners , free kicks and took one touch too often and fluffed shots

But and it's a BIG but I'm convinced now he is the real deal. For a few games he's been making me eat my words and even today I thought just before he scored " bugger he's blown it" but he hadn't and I thought today he was immense

Pass me the humble pie pls

Just noticed on the extended highlights Jordan celebrating with a bit of a chicken dance arm flapping as well.

If Crew can get his consistency back then on current form we’ve probably got a first choice below:

TLT

Sterry
O’Riordan
Pearson
Maxwell

Broadbent
Crew
Bailey

Gibson
Sharp
Molyneux

Your only questions would be McGrath for Pearson, and maybe Ajayi for Molyneux. I don’t think Ajayi has proved himself yet to come for the crown though.

I’m sure there was more than a few eyebrows raised yesterday, mine included, when he was selected ahead of Middleton yesterday. Because, let’s be right, Middleton has been class so far.
But credit to the lad, he well and truly stepped up. I don’t think his ability has ever been in doubt. I just think it’s a confidence and decision making thing. Good job he was confident as Billy would’ve blown a gasket for not squaring it had he not scored!!
His body language won’t help him for some, but that’s how he is so won’t change.
He gave a very interesting interview with radio Sheffield yesterday saying how was told to play inside in a more of a number 10 role. He stated that he prefers that and he likes to go both ways. Well it certainly showed. It has been suggested by some on here he should play in that role and in fairness, his poorest work does occur when he’s hugging that left flank. Well if that’s the result when moved then long may it continue.
Who plays next match? Good problems to have.

I don’t think Ajayi is anywhere near challenging Moly for the first choice spot as it stands. Also think Clifton is the favoured choice in the most advanced central midfield role, although that may change when Crew & Gotts become more settled.

Gibson is probably slightly ahead of Middleton although they’ll continue to rotate - I’d be surprised if either gets more than 3 or 4 consecutive starts at any point this year unless the other is injured.
