Players out on loan

  Both been playing well but seem sacrificial lambs with a big squad Flint especially has not been played in his best position in mid field and used right across the back line instead when an injury allows.
  The thing is mid field is mainly where they have lacked and been nice to play against in the games I have watched of them.
 It's a funny old game.

  Sam Brown was part of Peterborough Sports recovery in a somewhat surprise win v Chorley 2-1 which continued their escape from the relegation places to 20th in the division after looking stranded a few weeks ago.
  He was subbed on 65 minutes but did well and is playing further forward as a 10 so great experience for him and a big lesrning curve he looks to be doing well at.
  In the FA cup at AFC Wimbledon Gateshead had a fantastic win at a place we know is not easy to play at but came away with a 2-0 win.
  Our two loan players both came on late in the game as substitutes Hurst on 71 minutes and Will Flint on 84 minutes  so were part of the party and shored up the defence of a 2 goal lead when The Dons were throwing the kitchen sink at them to get back in the game and did their job well when given the responsibility to do so by the manager, so well done part of the giant killing of the round to me.
  Harrogate the team I have watched as much as The Rovers this season were not so lucky at Mansfield, where before the game I feared a real good hiding for them.
  The game ended up a close game Harrogate playing way above the form they have showed lately and lost to a fluke Rico shay off both central defenders Bobby and O'Conner's shoulder  trying to block a shot.
  Bobby played well attracting a well played from both managers at the end of the game and played a big part with all the team giving their best performance for a while.
  So well done to all of them two out of three shock results aint bad as the song goes hopefully they all enjoyed the evening.

    Reading the Newport supporters comments on their game v Gillingham Braybrooke once again was the MOM, we need to be looking seriously at this lad if Crew is not the man, probably a lot more for cheaper as well.

  Not a very good weekend of results with all four main players we have out on loan  with all three teams they play for losing close encounters the results not the main points of interest to us the performances are, but it would be nice for their teams do well.
  At Gateshead once again Hurst and Flint were the cavalry sent for when their team was losing 2-0 both coming on about the hour mark. In Flints case after a great loan at near bye Darlington and the young player of the year award playing in his best position of defensive mid fielder just in front centrally of a back four he now finds himself playing in positions right across the back four, yesterday fetched on at left side defender in a four. He has done well shown he can play across the back and gives him much needed experience in all positions, but could be so much more help to the team in Central defensive mid field.
  Hurst also has done well and generally when Gateshead have won games he has been a big part of them being an attacking force, and yesterday although they couldn't turn the result around they improved Gateshead's form in the game.
   Sam Brown meanwhile played the full game at Spennymoor for Peterborough Sports, not the easiest place to go and get a result and ended up on the wrong end of a 1-0 result.
   He has done really well under the eye of his new manager and is getting good experience in a physical league while they battle to get out of the relegation zone.
  As I stated their own performance rather than the result is the most important thing to try and get out of the games for all our loan players out at whatever level, and should teach them ambition and self development if they want to progress in the game.
  Harrogate continued their tumble down the league in another 1-0 defeat by Oldham which from reports would have been much heavier but for some great defending by Bobby Faulkner who also had an Equalizing goal harshly disallowed. By all accounts he had a very good game also making one terrific tackle on Mellon to stop what looked like a certain goal and earnt him a good 8 rating in the football league paper and a mention in the report in the Oldham times and in front of a certain Mr Neil Warnock.

Saw the Bobby tackle Selby, he showed great strength, pace and composure to get there. I think we’ve made a mistake not cashing in on McGrath and bringing Bobby back in the fold alongside O’Riordan, Pearson and Grehan. Glad he’s doing well up at Harrogate.

  Does anyone think that when Kelly broke and passed wide for the winning goal, the Barnsley player would have had the time he got to compose himself and get the shot off like he did with the ginger marker after him.
  I think it was Mickey Mellon he chased down who ran us ragged for Morecambe a couple of seasons ago.
  Bobby also had what would have been an equalising goal harshly disallowed with a great volley into the corner of the net late in the game.

Probably yes. It was the shape of the team and the movement of DKD that brought the goal. Not sure pace of defence came into it.

I said to my mate as soon as Kelly broke through that tackle and started running this is a goal. Wide gaps and a great run by Keller-Dunn who was motoring into space as soon as Kelly went.
They still had to finish it mind but it was clinical.
