We do our talking on the pitch.

I don’t give a toss what their manager says.

I’m not that keen about him, either. I know he has to protect himself and his players but he gave very little credit to us.
All he had to say was they were beaten by a better side on the day.

Max Powerless looked older than Billy in his post match interview.

Sourpuss GA in a post match interview said all we did that first half was play the long ball and it was down to individual errors that they conceded 3 poor first half goals. So, those 3 poor first half goals had nothing to do with the individual talent of our players out-doing their defence and putting the ball in the back of the net then? We scored 3 goals, they scored 1, I thought that's what football was all about, scoring more goals than the opposition. Weird.

On the subject of managers’ post-match comments, how about this gem from our old friend Darren Moore after another defeat for Port Vale on Saturday:

“I think we’ve identified that we can cope at the level, I think that’s there for all to see”.

Played 7
Won 0
Drawn 2
Lost 5

Has anybody actually bothered listening to the full interview? Whilst he isn’t always explicit in what he says he says Doncaster are a “good side” and is implicit in saying we won the first dual, which set the tone for us winning most of the others in the first half, were more aggressive and had more energy…he also talks about Bradford's poor performance whilst specifically saying “not to take anything away from Doncaster”….what more do you want him to say?

I don't know about GA, but there's plenty of sour grapes from their fans. I walked up to the ground with some of them, and they were certain they were going to muller us 3-0.

This is mainly why Jordan has had so much vile abuse. They just don't like it up them. We've pumped them 3 times, and Jordan, who apparently didn't do much when he played for them, ran them ragged.

Set of mardy, arrogant tw*ts, who feel they're entitled to laud it over the likes of us.

F*ck them.

I sat in the family stand on Saturday with my seven year old son who's started going on and off over the last couple of years. Just before kick off, 4 blokes and 3 kids rock up on the row in front of us, two of the blokes wearing tops with the Bradford Park Avenue badge on. Fair enough I thought, no biggy. Anyway, one of them decides to stand up and clap when the equalise. A bit later, I make a comment about Sarcevic being useless, same bloke turns round and goes "nah, he's not though is he." I let it go, I'm not confrontational and it's the family stand.

Half time comes. Thought I'd mention it to the stewards. They said they'd keep an eye on them. Sure enough, a couple of 'senior' looking stewards watched them closely during the second half, but given Bradfords dire performance, the main protagonist stayed in his seat and didn't offer any further observations. Sarcevic yet again does f**k all and gets subbed, "still waiting for his to do summit" I said, bloke not interested unsurprisingly.

Then they had a good laugh about the attendance figure when it was announced. "Show me part of the league table where that matters" I said again. Nothing. They got up and left with 5 mins left. "Mind how you go" I said.

The arrogance to come and sit in the home end and be a bellend. They just can't handle the pub team from Donny.

I met up with a load of City fans that I knew in the Cheswold pre-match. They were all apprehensive, especially when they saw that Mols and Billy were starting. They all said that they would take a point before the game. They are all good lads with their feet on the ground. Like all clubs they have a cross section of fans. All the City fans in my gym this morning were complimenting Rovers and agreed that on the day the better team won easily. I’ll see even more of them there tomorrow and have my Rovers top on again.
Plenty of good natured banter.

That all sounds pretty well behaved to me. Maybe it would have been different if they’d taken the lead or been more in the game.

It sounds to me like they could well have been Bradford PA fans not wanting to associate with their arch rivals, the City fans. I don’t think fans normally sink to the level of wearing shirts of teams they don’t support by way of disguise. I’ve never come across that before. I often wondered where neutral spectators are supposed to sit. When I’ve been in that position I’ve gone with the home supporters. You’ve obviously said rather bluntly what you think CJK, and someone who has every appearance of being neutral has (fairly politely) taken a different view and I’m not sure how this can be “arrogant”.

Maybe I didn't describe the whole situation in a great way. But let me be clear, they definitely weren't neutrals, they were Bantams. As you'll notice if you read it back, one of them even got up and celebrated their goal.

On reflection, it doesn't really matter now. As I've said, I've encountered countless away supporters in our home sections over the years. If they sit tight and respect where they're sat, I've no major issue.

Well I think you’re right to bring this up CJK.
Away fans in our Family Stand is definitely not right and it shows our ticketing system has failed.

Don’t clubs sell the majority of their one-off match tickets online? Such systems cannot be designed to exclude non home fans and by your standards will inevitably “fail” Pancho. Even if they are bought over the phone, you could not expect ticketing staff to interrogate potential buyers. It would certainly not encourage new support.

Sometimes we limit sales to fans with a previous purchase history..

I have no issue with the occasional away fan being in the home end, you just have to behave and pretend to be a neutral supporter.

I am minded to go to a Peterborough game soon ish, to have a purchase history there so if necessary I can more easily get a ticket for the last game.  I live nearby so it’s not too difficult..

I’ve watched local clubs on a semi-neutral basis and the local one actually supporting them and always choose the home areas, even when they’ve played Rovers and I’ve had to suppress my real emotions. Watching your own team amongst the home fans demands restraint which is a kind of respect, but in a sense it’s a pity that our sport has become so partisan. It’s certainly difficult to stay quiet especially when people nearby are brutally aggressive in their comments. In fact I’ve noticed that the overriding emotions of some home fans is hatred of the opposition (and desire for retribution) which appears to far outweigh the pleasure they get from their own team. You wonder why they go to matches.

I brought a Bradford City fan a ticket for last season’s game. He behaved impeccably but did go when Billy scored our second.
Living in Bradford I know many City fans and before Rover’s home matches I always meet up with a group of my late son’s mates. We have a couple of pints and a natter and then wait for the bragging rights. My son always stayed in Donny after a City game so he could celebrate if we won. I usually do the same now for Saturday games.

All comes down to what sort of person you are, I’d say. I was in the Mansfield end when we drew 1-1 the play off season and didn’t react when we scored and just sat placidly when they scored.

However, I did get rather animated when Joe Ironside put a crunching tackle in the middle of the park but you could argue both sides would appreciate that. Was a thing of beauty.

I chatted to a few of their fans, walking from the train station. They were fully expecting Billy to score (although they said when he comes on after 60 mins, they weren't thrilled when I said he'd be starting), they also said they were in a false position as they weren't playing well & had got away with a few results.
The walk back was a bit more watch your shoulder, few lairy young uns making some noise, nowt boiled over though.
