Training ground developments

And this is why it's so important what we are doing right now.  The Bradford owner knows it too

https://www.facebook.com/share/r/179gzpK8kR/

Our future growth, performances, ability to attract the right players, etc are all linked to this.

Massive well done to Gavin and Terry for seeing the need and making the investment.

Spoke a lot of sense. We are ahead of that now, or at least catching up.

I'm surprised we haven't had another update since all the steelwork was completed.

One of the questions Wednesday fans ask once they figure out what happens if they can get a new owner is how quickly they'll be able to move to a more upto date modern training facility.

Extremely relevant given the state they find themselves in now.

]Why ? We are having development carried out at the Cantley training ground, and that’s all we need to know, it’s progress updates would be nice but other clubs processes or requirements has little or baring on . DRFC and our progress of building for the future . A Terry Bramhall legacy is what’s being carried right know and it’s being replicated on the pitch with the quality of the squad and its consistency of performances.

As shown by the OP, the standard of training facilities at other clubs - thus the comparison of them with Rovers - has a massive amount of influence as to whether or not a prospective player might come to Rovers or go another club.

Surely the rough grass and goal posts behind the away terrace at Accrington isn’t their training ground?

What's wrong with that bit of land down the far end of the straight mile? Billy always used it.

That’s not far from where the team trained in the days of Peter Doherty, Syd Bycroft etc!

There were several pitches down the Straight Mile in the olden days and Rovers Juniors  played home games there often .I have not been there for years and believe it to be much changed as is the old Fire Station premises .

Hell fire man , the op is showing how important Bradford think  something we are doing is . So seems entirely reasonable to point out a granted current basket case  championship side also want this one day .

I played on those Sandal Beat pitches many times in the 60s and early 70s. I remember being warned not to leave valuables in the changing rooms because there had been a few incidents of people breaking in and pinching stuff.

Likewise, left.my.late Dads watch in my jeans pocket. The scrotes managed to get into the roof space in the changing rooms and dropped down through a hatch in the ceiling and nicked it. Strangely it was the only thing that went missing

Juventus in their hey day used to train on pristine pitches so many days a week and one day on a pitch that was intentionally a poor surface  to promote better ball control.
I doubt very much that most of the African, Asian, and South American stars currently playing with top sides in Europe started off on pristine pitches.
I can see why top class facilities are required for top professionals  are the norm, but during a bad winter which we haven't had for a while the best of pitches will take an hammering.
That's why 4g pitches are the norm in Northern Europe even for league and some European games.

And yet some of the 'best players' in the world come from South American countries where they start their early years playing on pot holed, dirt tracks.

I played for the old Park Hotel for a season around 1981ish on those pitches. I remember we had stuff nicked out of the changing rooms and cars vandalised quite often around there.

Nowhere was quite as bad as Upton and Hemsworth though.

I was hoping for some news of our new training ground buildings, has it begun? Do we know how far along it has got.

A further update has been posted.

It looks huge inside. I'd you follow the link in the article to Workbox, there's some artists impressions of the final look inside and out.

Looks like there's still plenty to do with the fitout

Chat GPT  says
A state-of-the-art gym with large windows overlooking the training pitches.
   •   Physiotherapy rooms and consultation rooms.
   •   The idea is to raise standards at the training ground, to make it more “homely,” for all parts of the club (first-team, women, youth), and to improve the overall facilities.
