Record breaker?
« on September 10, 2025, 08:25:51 pm by Branton Rover »
Unless someone can tell me otherwise Billy Sharp has set a world record on Saturday by scoring against the same opponents with the biggest time gap between the first and most recent goal - 19 years. Wouldn’t it be brilliant if this is verified by Guinness Book of Records & get presented by TB on the pitch.

I’d be amazed if it was a record. Seems very unlikely.

Wouldn't someone like Ronaldo have done it?

Be someone in South America where they all play till 40. Or like you say, Messi or Ronaldo in international football.

It seems the record holder is Sammy Stewart for East Fife.

Scored against East Stirlingshire 27th August 1938 and again on 6th April 1960.

Incredible statistical anomaly because they were his only 2 career goals. Wow.

With Billy looking as fit as ever, perhaps more so than last season, he isn't finished yet.

In the modern era, his longevity is incredible plus, being a striker when the job is a tough one to consistently outwit  his younger opponents and still score goals at a good rate. No wonder he's streets ahead of everyone else.
