Attendance at spurs?
« on September 10, 2025, 09:56:35 pm by normal rules »
Given all the talk about ticket availability, what do we think the crowd will be?
Depending on the home crowd, it could be a contender for one of the top five crowds rovers have ever played in front of.
Obvs it won’t beat the 75132 at Wembley.
Or the 59024 at Cardiff.
But it could top the 1954 Anfield crowd of 49745?

Spurs home crowds last season were all around 60k. With the exception of a few Euro games which still topped 51k.

The cost of tickets for home fans could push up the attendance and with the points system they have helps them to get European tickets more may attend than we think

We are due to collect 40 % of the gate receipts after Spurs deduct their match day expenditure .I can't see the attendance dipping below 30,000 which would amount to a gross share for DRFC of £ 360,000 ( with the average ticket costing £30 ).The NET net take for us is going to be over £250,000 which is likely to augment playing budget for Grant .

I’d go for, 46,000 beating the Arsenal attendance v Rovers of a few years ago

I’m going for 50k plus. Making it the third biggest crowd ever rovers have played in front of. The locals will Come out for this . They will see it as a potential easy win for a chance to progress and get some much needed silverware. Points for sth for euro games. And a cheap ticket compared to PL games for those that struggle to get tickets normally. Oh and it’s a night game so the “light show” will be on

The only reason regular Spurs fans will go is if they need points that will help towards the CL games. I know a lot of Spurs fans and they’re either not going (points aren’t an issue) or only going because I am and they’re interested in the Rovers.

When Spurs played Burnley in FA Cup in Jan 24, from what I can gather Burnley took @1500 fans and the attendance was 60,000 and that was a night match too.

Our lowest attendance at the new stadium is 51k (both vs Qarabag in the Europa). We often have the upper tier closed for some EL games.

Thanks for taking time out to message Londoner.
Keep us posted on sales, we’re not the richest club on the planet (surprise surprise), however we are very well run with great ambition, so a huge turnout from the Spurs would be very much appreciated…Looking forward to seeing the stadium, I’ve been told it’s superb, my first visit, though did go to Spurs 7-2 Rovers in 1975/76 League Cup Qtr final. Are there any visible signs of  White Hart Lane left? For example some clubs put a marker/ statue where the centre circle was etc etc?

Yes mate. The floor on the ground level was made from crushed concrete from WHL and the Shelf Bar (home fans) has the bricks from the old Shelf Stand.

There are markers in the floor for the WHL penalty and centre spots. Quite a few other bits and bits.

Will keep an eye on the ticket sales and availability.

Agreed. I think we only 500 or so when we have played there. For us that's a poor turnout but it is a long long way.

Cheers L, looking forward to the visit. Looked up some of the pubs you’ve recommended, did see the Bill Nicholson, which looked interesting!!! Not sure I dare go in that one.

The Bill Nick and the 2 Brewers are ones to be avoided by away fans. You would never find the Brewers unless you were specifically looking for it.

Excellent OP

I think we have actually played in front of six 50K+ crowds in our history. Wembley, Cardiff and the following:

58110: Everton Div2 1953-54
57830: Birmingham FA Cup 1954-55
57740: Arsenal FA Cup 1951-52
51137: Sheffield Wednesday, Div 2 1947-48

I think the 1954 Anfield game is 7th on the list

Wembley and Cardiff of course we won, but the other 5 matches were all lost.

18/12/2023 - Qarabag (2) vs Neftçi PFK (0) at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium. A bold claim, but I bet I was the only Rovers fan there that night. The quality of the togger wasn't very good.

I don't even know where Qarabag is!

If it's not too personal, Hanksie, what were you doing out there?! I thought I go to far flung and obscure places but boy! You've done me there!

I was there in 2005 when England played in a WC qualifier.

In the days prior to flying out the other England fans were saying how warm it was, t shirts and shorts weather.  So that’s what we turned up in to be faced with gale force winds and pouring rain. Never been so cold at a game of footy!

I was on holiday, one of the best trips i've done in all honesty. Visted Baku, Ganja & Aghstafa (Azerbaijan), before exiting on foot into Georgia. A night rest there before heading down to Yerevan (Armenia) in a minibus for 7hrs via some heavy questioning at the border, upto Gyumri on the train & then an overnight train back to Tbilisi (Georgia) to see the new years celebrations out.

I've been to some pretty odd places in all honesty.
