Didn’t need to change 4 when he did. We were creating chances regularly and playing well. The Sharp miss just before their goal was big.

What was he wanting from the subs? We were creating plenty, so that wasn’t an issue. Bringing three attacking players on there aren’t as good as the ones you are taking  off can’t help.

All our loans except O’Riordan need to go back. People have  go at Hanlan.  Give him a run. If Hanlan had missed that chance Sharp had this forum would be in meltdown.
Why take Gibson off, had a great game, going forward and tracking back.
We have done well so far this season but last 5 games have been atrocious really. Grant now needs to show his metal.
We were lucky after that second half to come away with a point

Completely agree with all of the above.

Other teams called their substitutes “Finishers”

Our substitutes “finish” us!!

Look like Hanlan has stepped up in last few games. Much more involved and better pressing.

Atrocious from McCann absolute heads gone moment. Biggest downgrade of 4 players coming on I've ever seen v what went off.

Compare that to Burton subs who made a huge difference. Ours did absolutely nothing, and left us hanging on for a point.

Ajayi needs sending back to Spurs. Another winger we signed on loan whos not good enough (roberts, Yehboah)

I said this to my mate. Our “4th choice” winger options have all been shocking and left us with improvements to do in January.

Roberts
Yeboah
Ajayi looking that way

What’s just as frustrating is McCanns desperation to get them on the pitch.

Bringing 4 of them on together didn't help. Neither did Broadbent. Close absolutely miles better than him. I don't think Broadbent completed a forward pass when he came on.

Agreed, we were very lucky to get a point today following our subs. As others have said we were creating good chances so why change it?

The front three that came on looked like they’d never seen a football, Hanlan tackled himself at one point

The first 10 minutes of the second half being like a scene from casualty didn’t help. They then had a 5min spell of threatening spell. Billy then missed the great chance, and they went down the other end and scored. Five minutes later Grants head fell off and he made 4 subs.

The moment he passed straught to their player in our half then when their attack broke down and he got the ball and gave them another go had me thinking he had a tenner on a burton 2-1 win

He came on and played as a 10 didn't he, replacing Sbarra? That's probably a lot more difficult position for a young lad to play than out wide. Those two passes on the edge of the box were terrible though, no excusing those.

I thought we needed a sub or two and actually last season we certainly changed a lot of games with the subs.

But there's too many of our non starting eleven that just are not good enough, that's our problem.  We massively lack a good number 9 and too reliant on Billy which at his age we should not be (bar his miss he played well today again).  Yet to see much from too many of them and I'd not be surprised to see changes in January.

But, we should have had the game won before they scored.

Awful second half and we got worse as it went on. We are truly reliant on Sharp and he’s way past his best. Mols looks totally devoid of confidence as those chances first half would have been buried last season. The number of times we have players in the 18 yard box and want to pass it to someone else is ridiculous.

GM got the subs completely wrong and that contributed to us looking like a bottom half National league side at times. Woeful.

It’s time for some harsh words and deeds.

I honestly try a front three of Middleton Mols and Gibson. I’ve thought for a while I’d like to see Mols as a 9.

I thought he took a massive gamble putting them 4 on all together, said at the time he's really desperate for a change of luck after his first choice players let him down badly.

What made it even worse was the fact we had created some stellar chances that we should of took advantage of, the replacement front three made no impression whatsoever and Middleton could not get into the game.

I'd have left Olusanya on the bench and played Hanlon up top with Gibson and Middleton wide and put Mols in behind Hanlon, playing Hanlon behind Olusanya will not work, Ajayi is so far off it its like Paying with 10 men. Also would have kept Close on.

Major reset required now, players need to have a long hard look at themselves, the effort is there it just needs a more calm and composed attitude, when we get chances we need to convert. If them early chances went in we would be looking at this game completely differently as a good win.

When a striker like Billy misses a sitter you have to let him go and score the next one.

Replacing him with these clowns is not the answer.

Only subs that should have been made was Molly and Sarbs.

The subs GM made were criminal. Three of those have been a waste of squad space so far so highly unlikely to swing the game back in our favour.
Olusanya looks North East Counties level at best, anx where the f**k is this rapido speed?

Though i thought we were poor the 2nd half, at 1-1 i still had some confidence that the players we had on could carve out a chance to win it.

Once i saw the changes, all that confidence had gone.
It was like watching a set of competition winners finish the game up top.

Substitutes ought to strengthen the team. McCann puts too much focus on the belief that changing the attackers bring added strength, and does it routinely yet to little effect.

In addition, it’s difficult to identify what role Ajayi and Olusanyo play (or I might say are capable of playing). They seem out of their depth and far less effective than Gibson and Molyneux. Middleton has useful qualities, but the other two have nothing beyond enthusiasm. Close did not deserve to be hauled off either. It strikes me a bad judgment.

Watching the game today it would appear there are some hard times ahead of us with the poor subs we have to bring on. They are even poor when starting a game. First half was good but boy do we need a striker..think there will be more of the same with the same scenario and what we have available to change the situation.

Truly baffled by Olusanya, his highlights video when he joined made him look pacey and strong knocking people out the way to score....yet he has the touch of 10yr old and was getting pushed off the ball so easily and dont get me started on pace.

Hanlan was trying and you could see that, Ajayi just doesnt do anything...
