Surprised to see the club has apparently let David Shaul go, judging by his LinkedIn post. I thought his content has been brilliant, particularly over the end of last season and has really engaged players with fans.

I think the pre and post match stuff is pretty poor, primarily consisting of asking loads of 8 year olds what the score will be and who their favourite player is. It would be good to get a bit more insight in to the players - the original red and white show had more interviews and training footage etc, and lean more in to the ‘fun with players’ stuff like the higher or lower game with Billy, Mols and Bailey. Maybe a shake up isn’t the worst thing in the world, if true.

Is 18 Dapper still doing match previews? Haven't seen them on YouTube for a while.

Dans is having a kid in the new year so knew he wouldn’t be at every game so took a step back this season, he still goes but just doesn’t do as much filming

I’d be interested to know what the story is with this. That role is certainly a big part football clubs this day and age. It would be a strange situation if he wasn’t replaced.

Really odd. Seems like a couple gone from the Club Doncaster group so possibly a bit of streamlining. Enjoyed his work.

I couldn’t agree more Reg. The ‘interviews’ with the match-day mascots is cringe-worthy and boring.

But was David Shaul responsible for this?

I also agree re the pre-game discussion with mascots, but I was meaning the preview and 'inside rovers' youtube stuff the club does - we had a run of really well put together 'Red and White Shows' a couple of years ago but it's been unwatchably dull recently - in my opinion

Yes, I enjoyed his content and humour too. Must be quite difficult to keep things fresh when every game has pretty much the same build up. He certainly added value to the content from our Championship winning season including alot of crowd shots showing everyone young and old soaking in the great atmospheres.

There's usually a reason for everything and people move on. It's an opportunity for someone to fill the void.

I see what you’re saying, but my 11 yea old lad loved the content, and was desperate to be asked for a score prediction. Loves spotting himself on the crowd panning shots and the ‘question of the week’.

These 8 year olds are the future of the clubs fan base and I think he did a great job making them feel part of the club. Combined with the more serious ‘coffee with’ interviews that Hoden did gave us a great social media presence last year and it’s a shame that hasn’t been recognised.

Ah sorry, my misunderstanding Reg.

I’ve not watched the YouTube match previews but I have seen a few of David’s vlogs and I thought they were really good. I particularly liked the Spurs vlog, which also attracted compliments from some Spurs fans who had never seen behind the scenes at their stadium!

I think I might apply for this position myself. I've got some great pre-match entertainment in mind, including BB and Wolfie playing the spoons, and a selection of songs from Dickie Valentine.

I clarified to Pancho above that I was referring to the 'inside rovers' where David goes round talking to kids in the crowd asking them the score, which is fine, however that seems to be the only content to many videos which is pretty boring.  The announcer at the stadium is a different fella who also repetitively asks kids for score predictions.
