Worst run in league since

March 2023 under Danny Schofield.

1 point in 6 league games then, 1 point in 6 league games now.

And Danny Schofield had a squad of Sunday league players. Grant must be getting nervous now, it’s sacking season so new managers get January. Needs to buck his ideas up big time.

He's more than capable of keeping us safe this season. This is a bad patch though no doubt but he can turn this around. Not sure players are helping him though with the sheer number of unforced and individual errors.

We have a league 2 squad who are trying to fight above our weight. Northampton held us at arms length without being brilliant. We don’t know which 2 players were injured but guess that Broadbent was one. Ajayi wasn’t good enough but was Molyneux any better when he came on did put in one worthwhile cross. Gibson lost the ball more times than he won his crossing was poor.
We had nearly all the attackers on the pitch from 70mins and they could not get passed Northampton. Only Middleton looked dangerous
We have a squad that we all felt were good enough but they are not. Our Expectations at the beginning were high now realism should have set in it will be a fight to be mid table.
Northampton were taller, faster, stronger we could hardly get past them.

Grant has proven that our budget was poor and could only buy  this of dross . We have been begging for player cash to bring in the quality to build a team around . L2 beckons  with this lot .

Grant set his own budget, knew what he needed and got it. That was what was said at the start of the season.

"mid table" ?

I'd take 20th now if it were offered!

We also have half a dozen players who can’t make the matchday squad due to the numbers of players we have. We should have perhaps gone for quality over quantity, or quality and quantity.

Are you seriously suggesting Grant is at even 1% risk?!?! Really!?!?
Not a chance. Peaks and troughs happen. We were bottom part of league two less than 2 years ago, under Grant, so this isn’t even the remotest factor at the moment. Come on, be real.

Of course he’s not going to be nervous. We’re sat 12th in the league above after just winning the title

The low point of that run was surely the 2-2 away at Harrogate when he got all kinds of abuse in the dugout. This was the starting line up he was able to field that day:

1   (G)   J Mitchell
15   (D)   A Long
18   (D)   B Nelson
19   (D)   C Seaman
28   (D)   B Faulkner
7   (M)   L Molyneux
24   (M)   Z Westbrooke
27   (M)   L Ravenhill
33   (M)   B Close
16   (F)   A Barlow
22   (F)   K Agard

My concern is that we have played Luton, Wigan, Orient and Vale recently. All below us in the table and all much better than us on the day. Not even Dickos can deny that!

We're in a bit of a pickle to be sure, but Grant tends to sort these things out. Don't envy his drive to work on a Monday morning right now but lets hang in there lads and lasses.

Good news for everyone!! I watched the last two games live in person, so I feel part responsible for the jinx. Real shame I wasn't able to enjoy any of the games we were over for...I live in hope for my next trip.

Wow state of that line up

It's a wonder we ever won a point in the final third of that season, given the squad we had available.

My own take on the low point was a couple of weeks earlier at Gillingham

Mitchell

Seaman
Long
Faulkner
Nelson
Rowe (who was patently unfit)

Barlow
Close
Westbrook
Molyneux

Goodman (debut)

Subs
Bottomley
Todd Miller
Degruchy
Ravenhill
J Brown
Hurst
Agard

I reckon maybe 12 of that 18 have collectively played fewer than 12 FL games in the 2 and a quarter seasons since that season ended. That's how far off the standard the squad was.
PS.CBCB, I think.Molyneix played left back in that Harrogate match.

And how many people on here said we should be grateful for what we've got, and stop wanting to spend other people's money, and anyway, spending money doesn't guarantee success?

..... Don't forget Richardson, blah blah blah, and all that b0llocks!
