Grants view of the first half doesn’t match what I watched
He’s over thinking it if he’s picking the team based on opposition. Either that or he’s using it as an excuse for not knowing how good his players are. Not impossible that Jas is playing the lad onside got the goal and the Linesman looked inline on the replay…
Just listened to his interview and his view of the game is really concerning. There is no way we were good in the first half, where we got lucky with a deflection from a relatively tame shot.Yes the officiating was poor, but come on Grant you have got to realise that your system is not working and need to change things quickly. Also if you are going to call individual players out, then please show some consistency ie please explain why you single out Middleton, but make no reference to Ajayi, who was absolutely shocking.Very worrying comments!
The reason they pass back is no one finds space, you watch us compared to the opposition, they find space easily, be it dropping deeper to give an option or making runs to drag defenders out of position. We don’t see that enough from our players

You don’t see repetitive patterns of play in attacking areas. Giving players an autonomy in and around the area is fine but when you lack the individuals to win games, due to ability/form/whatever, you are in trouble. We rush things when attacking. We don’t have the patience to move the ball side to side, probing through different phases, waiting for players to be out of position. We actually did it for 5 mins yesterday and we actually scored. We need to decide if we are a passing team, in which case you need to be prescriptive with your attacking structures, or can we be a counter attacking team where directness and individualism is fine. Bit of an identity crisis I think.

Someone who Grant could use to develop the style of play, different potentially smarter ideas, adding a bit of objectivity into the mix. We employed Barry Richardson, a goalkeeping coach.
We are regularly second best with our work off the ball. The opposition always seem to have a spare man.
https://t.co/Jmwl8ddpodDont agree with name dropping glenn for what he sees has 1 mistake. Also dont agree with that we were comfortable in tge 1st half. Also why do we pick a team based on the opposition each week??So that potentially says to me we could win 4-0 one week but make changes the next game because he feels that the same team wont play well against the next opposition.Play your best team regardless of the opponent
