Never was so much owed..

By the introduction at half time of Luke Molyneaux, Jordan Gibson & Tom Nixon.

They brought pace, conviction & nouse to an Xl who had struggled through the 45 minutes.

Plus Broadbent who came on and had a good game. We’ve got a good core team plus subs, and know our best players, time to stop the tinkering and build some consistency.

Broadbent has been proving his passing ability in the last few games. Great assist.

Not worthy of the tongue in cheek comment! McCann played the only hand he has to deal with in the second half  . The best of the night was not Jordan’s brace but Hanlans goal after not taking two golden opportunities only a few moments previously and could have bagged a hat trick had he been more settled in the squad. We need to see Hanslan start games and build some  momentum up alongside Billy and show why McCann signed him ..

The subs made the difference yes and showed it wasn’t Bradford being good first half it was us being poor.
It revolved around the midfield and out balls.
Grant tried players in there to give others a rest but it did not work.
Gotts is not a deep lying midfield player and SB is not ready for league 1 equivalent football. Introducing Broadbent changed the midfield. Gotts went further forward and looked better. Close who looked slow in the first half had Broadbent now to assist and could play better out balls. Ajayi was none existent therefore Molyneux looked far better.
Feel sorry for Middleton as he had no one near him first half. Hanlan looked a different player after the subs. So surely Grant must have learnt from the first half about some of his decisions.

That first half showing was the worst since Rotherham worked us over in the same competition some years back.
It certainly sorted out some we don't need in the room, and to be honest some who stayed on and turned up second half were just as bad, the back four and Lawlor playing the game by themselves.

Hanlan’s finish was composed and classy. Despite the misses beforehand, that second half showing shows me there is a goalscorer there if we get him settled.
