Jocks v Denmark.

What a game that was, a few dodgy decisions by the ref but a cracking fourth goal from half way line over Caspers  swede.

Cracking game loved it.  Obviously hope England win the thing next year but great for the family and delighted my 95 year old grandfather particularly and the rest of the family gets to see them in a world cup again.

I was a bit late home tonight and was looking through the scores so decided to watch the last five minutes of the game.
Incredible end to it.

I’m in Edinburgh staying at the Caledonian Hotel.

Just enjoyed the last 5 minutes of the game with the hotel staff in the lobby.

The Concierge jumped up and down and gave me a massive hug when that 4th goal went in.
An American lady guest looked very perplexed - she was trying to ask the Concierge what the postcode of the hotel was!
F**k of you silly cow!

“Woke nonsense”?

What does that even mean?

It’s a great night for our inferior neighbours, cut them some slack you bitter old sod.

It was a very good game and pleased for my Scottish mates (as pleased as they’d be for me if it was England!), but how aggrieved must the Dane’s feel. Well on top for most of the game and dominating and 1-1 when they got the red (2nd yellow) card. Never a yellow, not even a foul imho, but good luck to scotland & hope they’re in England’s group for an easy 3 points!  :coat:

Soft second yellow but the penalty was outside the box for me. Justice, you could say.

Yes one of our fiercest rivals, how are they not? You never heard of "The auld enemy"?

They absolutely hate us, they'd be pissing themselves if we didnt qualify.

I hope they get smashed 5 nil by Iraq.

That's fair enough Fal, you have the misfortune of being half Scottish so I get that you'll be pleased.

It's all these other soft English, half n half scarf wearers that I dont get.

They were dominated by a 10 man Denmark, I’m with Nudga, f**k em, even their anthem is about a battle against the English, they hate us with a passion

And the first goal was scored by an Englishman

Born in Scotland, so happy for them, but the Danes were all over them.  Being in Hounslow, nice to see two Brentford players on the pitch.

I live in Edinburgh and that is absolutely true. Friends, family, workmates aren’t able to contain their glee when we lose. I was looking forward to giving it back today when Denmark looked like they were back in it!

I’m pleased they’ve qualified, though. Means a lot to a lot of people that I know and what an incredible way to do it. They’ll have to improve massively to even compete at the World Cup, though - they’ve been rubbish for the entire qualifying campaign and it’s taken a lot of luck and moments of individual brilliance to get them there. That’s not going to run on forever, particularly against the better teams.

I’ll also be very pleased if they lose to Cape Verde or Uzbekistan.

Denmark absolutely outplayed them for the majority of the game, which seemed to be a result of them sitting back trying to defend the early goal lead. I couldn’t understand.
There were some terrible decisions by a World Cup final ref, so what chance doe we have in the lower leagues! It didn’t look like a foul which lead to the sending off.
However what a great watch for a neutral, the 3rd goal was absolutely superb and the last 10 mins or so plus injury time was just crazy.

I can understand some people’s comments regarding not being happy for Scotland, which I would not make, I just enjoyed the game.
However some of my best friends are Scottish, and have many friends/ex work colleagues from spending a lot of time working in my old employers Scottish office, and therefore feel confident to say that the majority of Scot’s hate our English team and do not support us when we play!

They do hate us Nudga and it isn't just a superficial sporting rivalry hatred.

They are going to be on par with the Welsh now, aren’t they? Northern Ireland much more bearable but those two are off the scale. Could Scotland match the Welsh humiliation in Qatar? It’s possible.

Robertson's foot was plainly on the line so no argument that is part of the area and the reason the penalty was given.
Glad they have reached the finals, but on that performance  I don't think they will bother the main contenders, England included.
What is becoming obvious with the home countries as a whole doing ok in qualifying, if they have a good number of Premiership players in the team they have a good chance of doing well.

Couldn't help thoroughly enjoying the drama, seeing the jocks both suffer and celebrate.

As much as the noisy neighbours will give it large for the next few months, I do wonder if we'll get drawn in the same group or half of the draw. I think we'd be the more nervous.
