Santa is a Rover 2025 vs Plymouth
« on November 20, 2025, 02:07:51 pm by Nudga »
As above, hopefully get more people involved for the last home game of the year.
It's just a bit of fun and would be great to see loads of festive red and white in the stands.
It's our 3rd year doing this so hopefully catches on some more.

A few of us doing meet ups in town beforehand if anyone wants to join us.
More details on that nearer the time.

Just seen some sad news that's quite apt for this thread.

Bill Workman AKA Saturday Santa has died. Rest in peace Bill, as a teenager in the Popside, Bill's humour and vicious baiting of the ref, lino and oppo left back back struck a chord with me.

Evening all.

Bumping this up with it being the 1st of December.

This year I've teamed up with the guys from The Black Bank, we'll be selling Santa hats around the stadium and possibly in town before the match.

50p from each santa hat sale will be going to the Action for Children charity.
We're also dedicating this to the one and only Bill Workman so we'd like to see as many of you wearing full santa suits or just the hats.

It's just a bit of fun and would be great to see the stands all in red and white.

I wore my Santa hat at the Peterborough game in tribute to ‘Saturday Santa’ I’ll keep wearing it at the games up to Christmas.

A bit of an update on this.

We're organising a Santa march through town before the match. Would be great to see a few there.

12pm Red Lion

12.45 Staff of Life

13.30 Hyde Park WMC

14.15 Walk to stadium.

This appears to be growing arms and legs now with a lot of people getting involved.
The original Saturday Santa would have loved this.

Nudga, before the match tonight our group was talking about the pre game music and how no one really listens to it and also how how most people don’t even know the songs or who is singing them.
One of my group mentioned the Santa is a Rover day and said he thought it would be great if the pre match music could be lots f the all time great Christmas songs.
We agreed it would be good so are you able to arrange it for the Plymouth match?

I could get your question asked mate but not sure if they'll take it up or not.

Not long now so hopefully you will all have your hats or suits at the ready.
This will make it on TV with That's TV South Yorkshire running a segment.
Remember this year we're raising money for the Action Children charity so I hope everyone will bring some Christmas cheer with them and get involved.

We're also have a Santa march from town to the ground so again, would be great and a good laugh to see a couple of hundred Saturdsy Santa's making their way to The Rovers.

12pm Red Lion

12.45pm Staff of Life

13.30PM Hyde Park Working Men's

14.15 PM walk to stadium

I'll even buy Usher a Fruit Shoot.

We will be there, looking forward to taking my 18 year old lad into the Staff of Life and I have never been in Hyde Park WMC. Anyone going from on here come and say hello if you see me, I will be the one in the Santa hat.

Sorry Spud, only just seen your post.

Although the result wasn't great i thought the turn out of Santa hats and suits was better thsn last year.

We've also raised around £200 for Action for Children

Thought it looked great, I sit near middle of west stand and there were plenty of hats near me, and watching the Santas all arrive in the south stand was fab. Well done Nudga for arranging.

Me and my lad came and we enjoyed it. Met some Plymouth fans on the crossing and took them into the Hyde Park WMC with us. Nice chatting with them and fellow Rovers fans.
