He wasn’t great, but the pace they played the game in the second half caught all the team out, so coming on 3/4 of the game gone would always be hard.
Broadbent was poor today for me, and the subs didn’t help us out at all, really surprised to see Hanlan go off, and not to replace Broadbent.

In my opinion today showed an overall lack of fitness in the squad. We were flat out after 60mins.

A great win to stop the questions though.

Middleton didn’t look interested when he came on. Gotts is another poor signing in the summer.

Sorry We don’t have a replacement for Broadbent or Bailey. We don’t really have a replacement for Clifton. They were faster fitter than us all over the pitch yet they couldn’t score a second goal. So we won. There is isn’t many teams in this league that play at their pace. But they are still getting beat and remain below us.

No but you can still critique players if they came on and were no better than the tired players they replaced.

We lose when we play well and it’s all “how we play doesn’t matter if we lose, it’s all about the result”
We win a game and it’s “ yeah but we didn’t play very well”
Crazy stuff from a lot of people on here

Having just heard GM on interview he acknowledges that we were poor in the attack in the second half, and he didn't use the phrase, but Rovers hung on well to complete the job. I was surprised they didn't come out punching in the second half to get a third and put it beyond doubt, when they score 5 mins into the second half you put the team into defence mode instead of attack, we held on.

I thought when I opened this it was going to be a praise thread! I thought he did well when he came on, looked busy and tried to create things. I don’t think anyone had a bad game today, Sharp probably scores lowest but wasn’t terrible apart from the miss.

Tactic wise I thought we were naive, we seemed to sit back and slow the game down from the off second half, but to be fair both of their half time subs were excellent.

Ref was a ding dong dishing out cards like it was Christmas, but we got the rub of the green with a short injury time and the first half off side goal for them. Overall worth the win, luck a bit more on our side today. Hopefully gives the lads confidence to kick on and climb the league.

It is a bit odd to single Gotts out. By the time he came on we'd fully lost control of midfield, and I thought he showed a bit of endeavour, neither here nor there really.

Peterborough changed tactics and put an extra man in midfield so we were getting over run so totally unfair on Gotts. I have to give praise to Grant for changing formation which nullified that in the last 15 minutes. You also have to factor that both centre half’s were on yellows which will impact how the midfield played as protecting them was more important than trying to push us forward

Loathe to sound like Dickos but we’ve just had our first win in what, 10 league games, against a side who are bang in form. What’s the point in digging out a player who came on in challenging circumstances when the opposition were well on top?

Great win today. Onwards and upwards.

Gotts wasn’t great but Sharp offered even less when he came on. Offers little in the press because he’s so slow and he limits the ways in which we can build attacks.

If we’d had an out ball for the last half hour we would have been under less pressure. It just kept coming back.

Great performance first half though. A few January additions and we’ll be a solid upwardly mobile league one side.

Hanlan was given a chance today, but for me he was poor. He hardly won any balls in the air and on numerous occasions he just doesn’t seem to be able to gat a ball under control.
Maybe he should spend some time with Copps who will be able to show him how to control a ball.

It shows how we all see things differently, I thought he did well until he got booked, he kept both their centre halves occupied and helped to create space out wide, he also pressed really well and was really unlucky not to score, would have benefited from a midfielder being closer to him at times.

I thought Hanlon was decent today, and came off 10 mins too early. I know he’d been booked though.

I don’t think we lack fitness we just put a hell of a lot into that 1st half

Why does Moly get cramp every other game after 70mins?

Just wasn’t the same after his booking. He had to back off a little to ensure he didn’t get sent off which meant he wasn’t as effective.

Today it was perhaps tactical cramp

Perhaps it was but… I’m not trying to be clever or argue for the sake of it, but the fact that he often does genuinely suffer towards the end of a match will be something that the medical staff will have observed and presumably made efforts to improve his vulnerability. Some people, sportsmen alike, are more prone to it than others and it surely comes down to individual physiology.

Hanlan did well, it was a really good save from his good turn and shot first half too.  Really a bit sad to see Billy struggling a bit, you can see he's now making decisions different because he's lost that yard of pace. He'd have gone round the keeper second half a year or two ago but didn't back himself.  But when it was played in to Billys feet some of his touches were still class.  It's an issue though we can't deny it.

It’s more than Molly I always notice Bailey, Gibbo, Maxwell, Broadbent and Clifton struggle through the 60 min mark in games. I think this step up has surprised me at least with how fast and fit teams are.

Todays game was a strange one for me, I am unsure if their tactic was to move us around all game, tiring us out and then going for the kill, or our tactic in the first half to stand off as much as possible then hit them hard and fast. Either way we won so happy days, but not sure we are fit enough for that week in week out.

Regarding Hanlan, I thought it was his best game for us until that yellow - it was his control and lay off to Molly that created the first goal, I’m not sure that’s his game btw, but he chased them down really aggressively today.  Really unlucky with his shot, it was hard and in the right place, but the keeper made a great save.

Got to mention their keeper - I’m sure some wanted us to sign him,  :s I’ve never seen anything but a panicky bag of nerves with the ball, it’s like he’s the 12th man when we play against him - great tactic to let him have it and not close him down, we got it back each and every time.
