There isn't a paywall at the Free Press. It is just an acceptance of their cookies, which allow them to target adverts to you and hence get some payment for their journalism. 20 years ago if you just walked into WH Smith and took the Free Press and left without paying, people would think you were taking the piss. Someone needs to pay journalists to work. It isn't a free service.
