South Stand today
« on December 20, 2025, 06:33:47 pm by Fal »
A portion of fans in there should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Slagging TLT off throughout the first half and then doing the “ahhhhh you shit bas**rd” when he was taking a goal kick or moaning because he played it sideways rather than upfield. Ever thought that’s what he has been told to do!

Yes the performance overall today was a shambles, he wasn’t even at fault for any of the goals aside from the penalty. What do you expect him to do when the players in front of him are putting him in one on one situations!!

You want us to play well yet slag off every player for a bad pass or a mistake, it’s no wonder we crumble when someone makes a mistake.

I won’t tar all in the that stand with the same brush but you should be ashamed with yourselves those that were involved!!!

Bloke behind me was having a right go at Molyneux near the end.

I get that folk are fed up, but that's no excuse for being a Kitson.

Mols was one of the ones that looked competent today.

It started with TLT as soon he came to the goal before the game started.
It won't help they have their right to do what they want but abusing our players whose confidence has gone won't help. The supporters have got accept this side will struggle in league 1 whoever is selected and whoever the manager is. Majority of our squad are not league one quality.

A group of them with big mouths & loud voices near the front singing “Darren Ferguson, Darren Ferguson”. FFS, I despair of our fans sometimes. Yes it wasn’t good today and we’re going through a bad run but DF?????. My f*ck*ng mind is totally blown!! WTF??!!!

Also singing we get battered everywhere we go - it’s just poor form, and does absolutely nothing to help lift the lads, which is what they should be doing.

It was noticeable to me watching Grant as they sang this, he became visibly deflated.

I don’t know what they expect to get from it.

We’ve won 1 in 14 and this is the first thread moaning about our fans.

I agree some of the things being sung I personally wouldn’t. But this form cannot continue and there’s always going to be a tipping point.

There was even a round of the Teddy Sherman Lowe song from last season.
I wrote on another thread earlier that the confidence vanished from the players after the mistake by Broadbent leading to the first goal.

Teddy would have conceded atleast 5 today. The problem was the midfield and defence not the keeper.

The middle of the south stand is home to Doncaster's thickest set of people for sure.

Drummer may as well have no arms every game too.

Sat in east stand today rare hospitality section. The difference between 900 Plymouth fans v the home end is huge and I'm talking even at 0v0 and 1v0

Says a lot when some people think TLT had a decent game when he conceded 5 goals and volleyed one of their players back to Plymouth for a penalty. He shouldn’t be starting, it’s not good for the team or himself and Grant should be giving him a break.

Absolutely and I reckon he's up there with one of the most hard working players we've had aswell. When he goes he'll be a huge miss.

So which goals was at fault for  ? The fourth one, the penalty ?

It wasn't just them, CBCB, it was also thousands of people that have supported this club for donkeys' years.

I myself stayed to the end, but I don't begrudge people the right to not suffer any more, after paying good money to watch utter garbage.

The goal-keeper is expected to keep the ball out of the goal, so I would say he is at fault for the majority of the 9 goals conceded in the last 180 minutes of football

Surely all of them, by that reckoning then? Amazing comment, thanks for educating us all.

Nah I tend to find they'll be the "die hards" staying till the end, moaning about the ones leaving.

I left early. Everyone is different, some of us would rather spend time with their family for 20 mins extra then watch our team put on a performance like that. I'm not one to boo, or call our own players shit, as that's going to ruin their confidence and be counterproductive but I'm fine with people making their own choice to quietly leave, as it doesn't affect anyone else.

We have a history of mindless scapegoating, with TLT the latest victim. Tom Anderson previously victimised, gave something back quite rightly and I bet he wasn't sad to see the back of em when he left. Quite an irony then if they were shouting TSLs name when he also was on the receiving end!

Hanlan was first to be shipped out as recently as last month for many, now he's the saviour. Absolutely worst judge of player worth and value are supporters.

Isn't football a team sport with 11 on the pitch, several on the bench that can change the match, and a manager who decides how the game is played? Not just the man in the net.
What was the rest of the defence doing and why didn't we score six if Hanlan, Sharp, Mols, etc are all beyond criticism?
Just a thought.

I think the problem actually is that we have a portion of our fanbase that grew up during the championship era and think that is where we should be, they have no clue of Belle Vue and the fact that we have historically been an League One/Two club.

Devil's advocate; you could say that the majority of the stadium leaving early will kill the players confidence more than a small amount of booing.
