Stadium emptying
« on December 20, 2025, 08:38:03 pm by scawsby steve »
I was talking to 2 old guys from Plymouth after the game. They said in all their lives watching football they'd never seen a stadium empty so quickly as when that 4th goal went in.

I haven't either, and there must have still been another 20 minutes or so to go.

It did empty very quickly and in large numbers. Not everyone I should add, but a fair amount of d**kheads left so it was probably a good thing on balance.

No me too, I think the problem today was we could all see that was not the last goal, we were lucky to keep it to 5.

It had also been built up as a must win.  We just can’t defend as a whole at this level.

On a positive note it was a doddle getting out of the car park

I was in hospitality, and the tables still looked full after the second half had started!

It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people didn't bother taking their seats in the stand for the second half.

What time did Molyneux turn up for MOTM? We gave up and left just after half 5

Excuse me Chris Black, but my wife and myself have supported the Rovers for more than 60 years and in our younger days never missed a home or away game.
We were two who left on 70 minutes, and this was a first for us, however we both did not feel we could watch any longer.
Now I am certainly no d**khead and neither is my wife.

I was at the children’s Xmas party in the Belle Vue Bar.
Mols was the only player who didn’t turn up.
I assumed it was because he was on MOTM duties

I bet those who were calling TLT a shit bas**rd stayed till the end, they must be better fans than those who left after the penalty.

To be fair, he did say some but not all were d**kheads that left.

I took off after the 4th - I'd taken a first timer and didn't want to put the poor chap through any mor of my ravings.... Hopeless today and the love-in is over.  You just need to organise a team and strategy... I think Grant is over-thinking things...

Anyway - I hope he is having a shit night at home...

The whole team might have been kept back in the changing rooms for a debrief/bollocking.
Grant might not have seen the collection of a man of the match award as being more important.

Me too. I'm not one for mixing with footballers, just doing their jobs not super heroes etc, but my little lad loved it.

Thought considering the shite afternoon the lads did a great job with the kids, can't have been much fun for them.

Only left before the end two or three times ever but got up after the fifth went in, tbh I was busting for a piss.
I'm still more than likely going to get Blackpool tickets today, nurse !!!

I left on 70 minutes, I think that's the first time I've ever left that early. We just wanted to go back into town for a drink.

Never left early. Always interested in the reaction at the final whistle and the players reaction.

Not good, but not enough people left for it to make much difference!

Usually stop and clap them off but was out of there as soon as the final whistle went. Not much to clap about (after the 10th minute)

I’ve left games early a few times over the years. If I feel that the team aren’t putting the effort in then neither will I.

Based on my own memory, of all the games that I’ve attended I don’t think that I’ve ever walked out before the end and missed an astonishing fight back.

A few left a few year back when we went to 1-2 down in the 90th minute against Crewe to eventually win 3-2, Andy Williams getting the winner.

Agreed after that performance it was probably the last place the lads wanted to be.

But the kids don’t really know any different and the lads still gave their time.

Some of them hovered around the edges and seemed like they couldn’t wait to leave.

But others got right into the thick of it for the kids.

I left in the 92nd minute for a pee and never went back. I got back to Bradford just before 6. A horrible drive over for the game and an even worse drive back after. I was still freezing when I got back.
