Thats players and fans tonight.

I thought we played really well  and the 700 fans who went amazing.

A bit more bite in midfield and I think we will be OK.

Im sure there will be some idiots that come on here and slag the team off, same old ones.

We are not far off you know, at all.

Midfield is about the only place we're ok!

We need 2 new centre backs and a proper established striker
We’re not OK there, teams run through our midfield at will

Correct. We aren’t ok but we will be. The quality is there but it’s up to the Manager and Coaching staff to work out how best to use it.

They’ve had two seasons with largely the same players. If they dont already know now we are in trouble!

There was a lot of good work and effort by some of the lads last night, and a good number of opportunities for us to have maybe won that game.
However yet again we failed to take those chances when they were created.
Yet some players continuing with little output or making mistakes.
Hanlan again was struggling to get hold of the ball.
Gibson lost the ball too easily and again doesn’t have any fight to chase hard and tackle when off the ball.
McGrath was again bullied by an experienced striker, and was struggling to cope with Players in this league.
Pearson seemed way off last night, which is really disappointing because with his experience he should be able to command and help the younger guys around him.

Also I always appreciate Ben close, probably more than others on here, but can’t understand why he started instead of Broadbent, a player close to his home turf so would have had extra incentive to perform, which showed when he came on.

Also not sure why Gotts started instead of Clifton?
Stockport have been struggling recently at home and with injuries and we helped to silence the crowd with our first goal, so I honestly believe the game was there for the taking.
Again bails and mols, two of our best performers and I am really worried we may lose these two, with bids that these two would want to be accepted.

I'm slightly confused how you can say we played very well, it was like reading a book. We scored then gave them the stonewall penalty, they go in front and we deserved to draw level, knowing that we would eventually concede yet again, then the book was closed shut. We had chances to make it 3-3 but the lack of fire power was clearly evident, like it's been all season, BS got to go

Lawlor did ok today, no complaints.

Amazing, no screaming and shouting about palming a ball to their centre forward. Double standards?

A bit harsh, it was a reaction save, a good one at that, impossible to catch, it still went away from goal at an acute angle, no way should Wootton be scoring from there.

(On a side note my wifes maiden name is Wootton)

Don't get me wrong, I was very happy with the TLT signing based on his last spell, but I think it says a lot about our recruitment that a keeper who didn't play a single league game in L2 last season is now miles closer to being #1 choice in L1 and is getting a run in the team on a regular basis.

Ben Close has played more than 2x as many league minutes for us this season as he did last season (albeit I know injuries played a part there)

Only 3 of the summer signings started last night. None of them really seem to have improved us.

I know January has saved us for the last 2 seasons but it feels like bigger changes are needed this time to get us to where we need to be. My concern is that the January window is a very difficult time to do that.

The summer signings were a disaster and contribute to where we are at the moment.hope we can get out of the position we are in by sorting out our defence.

Any relation to Charlie Wooton who worked at Rockware in the 70s?

Doesn’t ring a bell, but Father in law was Joe Wootton who worked at Rockware at that time

The thing is it’s ok saying we played well last night and at Cardiff but the reality is in those 2 games we have conceded 8 goals. To me that’s a total contradiction.

There’s far more to football than playing some neat and tidy stuff. In those 2 games we have, BUT the other stuff what’s needed in terms or closing down, staying with your man, playing the percentages showing initiative at set plays etc we are no where to be seen .

We just don’t do the fundamentals at all in every single game and it’s going to cost us big time.

I don't know what your beef is. On current form, TLT is nowhere near Lawlor.
