Parking Ticket
« on January 02, 2026, 12:53:24 pm by Prez »
This morning to my astonishment i got a parking ticket, saying i had not displayed or bought a valid ticket for my car which was parked at greyfriars car park on the29th.

I quickly checked with my mrs who did it via the ring go app and it confirms a valid ticket was bought, payment gone out of bank and even a confirmation was sent that we had 10 mins left before our ticket expired.

So just appealed this and even better the appeal has been rejected saying that our cameras are working correctly and we have entered the incorrect reg number in. The reg number is the correct one again confirmed on the app and text messages received.

Again they wont budge and are now saying got 14 days to pay and so on etc.

Has anyone elso experianced this or got any advice as to what to doo because im not paying a fkin penny.

Very angry!

Thanks.

Ignore them, you've already shown proof. Don't buckle to pressure tactics

They'll threaten court action etc so let them.  Like I say, you've already shown proof. Ignore emails and letters from now on.

You’ve got the proof, get chatgpt to do an email and also threaten a counter claim for harassment causing undue stress

Who did the appeal go to?

Who did the appeal go to?

Ok i got the letter from I Park services. I have appealed to them and they have rejected it saying that the company who runs that car park is Parkpaystay.com

Now we use that car park all the time and its always been Ringo who we have paid. When i asked them in my appeal when did you stop using Ringo for that location, they DID NOT answer the question, just stated we dont use Ringo.

So i have been on Ringo site and that location is showing on their website and the payment went to them last week and a receipt was issued.

So my question is IF it has been changed to Parkpaystay, then why the hell are Ringo showing it as location on their website and taking payments??

I park have rejected every thing i said and have closed the appeal saying i must pay.

They will be legally required to be in an independent appeals scheme, I THINK THERE ARE 2 such schemes, find out which one they are in and lodge an independent appeal appeals

Who did the appeal go to?

Overview
Private parking tickets: How to fight unfair charges ...
Appealing car parking disputes involves two main paths: council-issued Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) and private company Parking Charge Notices (PCNs); for councils, appeal directly via their website within 14-28 days, potentially getting a discount if rejected early, while for private tickets, first appeal to the company, then use the relevant independent body (POPLA for BPA members, IAS for IPC members) if rejected, gathering strong evidence like photos of unclear signs or broken meters to support your case.

Ok looks like i may not have a leg to stand on. So the car park has changed, from Ringo to Parkpaystay.

My mrs (and im genuinely not blaming her)  has logged on typed the code we nomally do  and its came up for The car park behind the minster. (Greyfrias )and assumed it was the one we parked in.

Fuming but nothing i can do i bet.

If you can prove you paid to park in the other Car park you have in my opinion, a case, we are all entitled to make an honest mistake. The independent appeals organisation will be run by a retired high court judge, not some self serving twit.

I mean technically you've probably not got too much you can do.  But it's a contract, you could offer them something in between but that's entirely up to you.  I had a similar issue recently at Manchester arena where we parked in the one right next to the one we'd booked by accident - shit happens ultimately.

There's a helluva lot of advice online about parking fines. Invest an hour in some googling. Your situation is unusual but that should make the searching easier.

Late to this thread and no idea on times but the Car Park East of the Minster and opposite Premier Inn has been offering Free Parking from 2 pm for the Christmas period and even Saturday it was still being offered

It might be another thing to offer up if it applied to you i.e you arrived after 2pm or as I did the other day , paid 1.10 for 10 minutes but got till 9.00 am next day to leave

Or in summary ... You might not have had to pay at all
