Does this mean that Robinson will start against Luton? GM said that one of the first signings would be ready for the Luton game. Just my assumption.

Wow. There's plenty of time left in the window, but that is seriously underwhelming.

Just google Darren Robinson and look at his experience.

What an odd thing to say.
Surely we should be improving us now and also looking at players for the future. It doesn’t need to be one or the other

Im pretty sure the signing of bayley will not have a single bit of effect on any budget or plans for the current 1st team.
Doubt it has taken up any time that could be spent on 1st team scouting either.

Give over Steve, I’m sick to death of people slagging off players before they’ve kicked a ball. Happened with street last year, happened with Adelakun and craig the year before. It’s embarrassing

To be fair to steve, he hasnt slagged him of personally, just said he is underwhelmed which is a fair statement.

It’s the second of Jan, why is it underwhelming?
What experience had herbie Kane and Matthew craig had before we signed them?

Pleased with the confirmation of the Robinson signing. Liked what I saw of him in NI U21s. In those games I felt his contribution was overall better than that offered by Charlie Crew in his two U21 appearances at the same time.

The obvious caveat being it was U21s football but it supports McCanns description of him.

I'm sticking my neck out here but I think he's capable of playing exactly the same way we saw from Gotts on New Year's day.

How long he takes to adjust is anyone's guess but I thinks he's got the potential to be a crowd pleaser.

So who's he going to replace from yesterday's midfield, to make us better?

He's also been training with us for weeks and should be ready to go.

Chances are, he’ll be on the bench. But he’s been with us training a while. Probably best that he has, as he’s had no serious game time for a month.

Only 5’10” and not very muscular looking but if he plays well, that’s all that matters.
Update: GM reckons he’s a 6 footer, so must be growing!

Midfield looking a bit threadbare with Close not available for a while, so we needed a body in there.

Well I think we were happy with the combo of Gotts, Bailey and Clifton so I don't think he'll walk into the starting XI.

I think it's likey he'll bring to the game a bit more than Broadbent. He has a good range of passing, a great engine but can also twist and turn to make space.

McCann said he was a mix of Matthew Craig and Herbie Kane. Not sure he's quite as skillful as Herbie with his tricks and flicks but I can see that potential.

It’s wild to assume that just because we looked better in midfield yesterday that we’ve solved the problem. We’ve been allowed to try before we buy so in these circumstances he should be half decent. Good luck to the lad.

Training fit and match fit are two different things!

I also don't agree with denigrating players before they have even kicked a ball for us,  this.lad made 2 starts for Hartlepool United when on loan. What more could we ask for?

Yep, good luck to both lads. Opportunity Robinsons been waiting for and first rung of the ladder for McCann Junior. Obviously need to add seasoned players to the squad as well but also keep a long term view for the future.

Robinson is causing a bit of disappointment among Derby fans for losing him, he sounds very positive and I hope he can become a Wellens type midfielder for us, with plenty of years in the tank! Bayley is quite aware that his dad will not go easy on him, if anything harder! After one more season on loan he could well be a future regular for us. Let's hope so. The other two promised I assume will include a decent striker, maybe two.

Striker and centre back, I would think. And still room for a couple more loans after them.

Hopeful as ever when we make a new signing, and will back them both to the hilt when on the field. Nevertheless, you’d need to be some optimist to think either are at the required level to get us out of this rut.

If there was a betting market open, it’d be odds on neither are ever up to the level we need them to be.

Still need 3/4 first team ready standard players. 2x CB, a 10 and a striker. Keeper ideally too, no pressure Grant.

Maybe McCann genuinely believes we have enough talent in the squad already. He is better equipped to judge this than any of us on this forum and I can't help thinking if Lady luck had not deserted us so badly in this terrible run we would be lower mid table now.

I’m surprised there’s not been more fall out from the Bayley McCann signing. He offers us nothing, we’re in the desperate mess at the bottom of the league, and McCann brings his amateur footballer son in to our club. McCann was out for number one when the snake crawled off last time, now his priority is jobs for his kids, not dragging us out of the mess he’s got us in to. It's disgraceful in my opinion.

He was very poor up against Moly in our league game. Don’t think it was his natural position but not a player we should look at on that showing
