Maybe like a lot of players that move from one area of the country to another it's taking him time to settle down and be able to concentrate on his football

He seems a bit of a one trick pony, his one trick is very good though.

He is sooo one footed and refuses to come inside and shoot - it maybe a confidence thing, I’m sure in an interview players were saying his shooting is really good. - I’ve never seen it, he almost crumbles at the sight of goal.

Crossing is ok, but finishing needs to improve

If we had an Andy Cook or Charlie Wyke type forward he’d be a great player for us.

Too one dimensional. Will get a few goals and assist a few but Gibson and Haks offer far more.

That's been the disappointment with him not mixing it up with a few inside runs. He can use both feet and scored a great right footed finish in a pre season game.

Thought his recent goal might spur him on to try and get in the box more often.

Time yet though.

It took Mols & Adelakun to come on for us to look anything like a team. P1ss poor first half!

We NEED a centre back and another midfielder, pronto!

Overly negative in my opinion. I thought after a slow start the midfield was excellent. Really liked what I saw from Robinson and Broadbent lovely distribution. Defensively good also.

Liked what I saw tonight from Robinson. He was what we were expecting from Crew.

Think Middleton has been really hard done by. Especially after the Bolton game to score, receive MOTM and get dropped. Having said that, if I had to choose between him and Haks I know which one I’d rather have.

I agree with Broadbent and Robinson it looked well balanced and both played well, BUT let’s be honest Fleetwood are an injury ravaged team and seemed to lack real quality.

There was never a moment I felt we were under pressure and most players played within themselves.

Just on Middleton, he looked so frustrated, it looked like he was wondering what the hell is going off, why is this not working.

I agree. Think hes been a bit harshly treated being dropped after having a decent game in the past and seems to be out of favour. A shame because i thought he was a decent signing.

Middleton needs to concentrate on targeting people in the box , he has what Molyneux has   Pace and the ability to get past defenders and cross , yet his final delivery fall short too often , he seldom seems to find a player coming in . More Patience and looking up to see who’s where could help . I think players of pace just need what Gibson has achieved time to sort their feet out .

Molyneux was a bit crap for ages after he signed and now look at him. Give the guy a chance.

Perhaps that's because our forward players rarely gamble and get into scoring positions to receive the great crosses Middleton puts in.

Wasn't it Middleton that played the excellent through ball that wrong footed the defender when Billy scored the first goal.
  That was a great ball/pass

I don't think personally that Middleton has turned out to be the McCann type of winger that he wants, Middleton strikes me as a generic crosser of the ball to a target man type of winger but we don't play like that. You see the difference with Haks or Gibbo as they are trying to take people on and making runs into the box like Moly does aswell.

This would be strange seeing as McCann has been tracking him for many years. Surely he knew what he was getting.

100% was Middleton, Clifton was running the overlap to Middletons left

Yeah it was Middleton, moved back to the left and came to life.

It was a very flat game but I had it down to them playing a poor side and it being the Virtue trophy, hard to mentally get up for it when the manager says no one cares until you get to wembley.

Middleton has that quality and his crossing + passing is very good.

Issue we have is consistency, we come good in 2nd half of seasons because McCann end up sticking with a team for the most part, then players gel better and start to work each others game out.

Nothing wrong with Middleton crossing from the left passing inconsistent and breaking into the area or just outside to shoot versus not good in has been the case on several occasions he must work on that.

Just got round to watching the highlights and agree it was Middleton who played Billy in.

The pass he cut through the midfield with to put Billy away for the first goal was perceptive and perfectly executed .

I think Middleton would benefit massively from a consecutive run in the team to get going, the lads had nothing but a bit here and a bit there, I bet he would be much improved after that
