This just goes to show the level of difficulty that will compound for clubs like Rovers to sustain never mind achieve in this league and at this level.

As things stand we could become a minnow even at this level. Its only going to get more difficult going forwards, it would be interesting to know what the succession plans for DRFC look like but it could be a case of this being above our natural level?

Not our natural level, if things were just crowd size based.

However, our financial level which is still heavily subsidised by TB, we just can’t compete with some of these clubs and their owners. Serious wealth.

We also have to remember that clubs like Lincoln and Wycombe will also need to be heavily subsidised to compete even with us as well as the improving level of this league. Its not a given that seriously wealthy owners will tip up.

I get the impression that Terry wants to leave us as well run self sustainable cub. He could have put more money in but what to what effect. JR had the dream of doing what Bournemouth have done but ran out of money.

Billionaires buying clubs will end in tears when the club doesn't get to the Premier league and stay there. The sponsor will go away and its only the fans and debtors that will remain.

After all there are only 22 places available. look at the clubs that were once in Premier League now in our division

Don’t those clubs with rich owners still have to abide by FFP rules.?

I was well informed of the Rushden and Diamonds issues .Max Griggs had enough money but said you can't buy a fan base .The lack of support , even after he gifted the club to the Supporters' group meant the club could never be sustainable .

The fan base will always be an issue with the “ new” teams coming up from the National League, clubs can’t survive for long on crowds of less than 3,000. In the first year they come up it’s all new and they attract crowds, especially away supporters, teams who prosper from that league are the old established one’s like Stockport,Mansfield,Lincoln, even ourselves.

It's a good example when it says if an owner puts £100m into the club they can only spend 60m on players. That won't be happening to us will it we be lucky to spend a 10th of that.

God knows why some hark on about Lincoln?

All they have done more or less in my lifetime is 3rd tier and mostly 4th tier as well as 2 yes TWO times in the 5th tier namely non league , ok they got a fair way once in the CUP, oh i remember they won the watney cup ,also the 5 (five) a side indoor football match cup when it was televised in the 60's or 70's.

Sincil Bank  football errrrrr Stadium? jees what a crap hole , go and walk out in the rain to the loo ,go out to get a burger ........... in the rain!
Any television  to watch pre match or through the match or see the results on after match ?where in the rain or go in one of the crappy places ,

What about the football?

Only reasonable when Taylor took over ,other wise kick and run and knock it to the number 9 , oh what about the guy who used to flood the pitch to stop any half decent team playing?
then there was Danny Cowley and his brother , well we gave them a lesson on how to PLAY football .

Only recently has any sort of progress happened on field but have THEY been in the Championship? HELL NO

Years of saying they was going to have a new stadium and alleged earmarked for them .......... suppose the Lincoln University takes the lead with any spare land so its Sinny Bank, suppose they got rid of the railway line years ago but instead of doing anything properly little bits added here and there.

Previous owners ? OMG Donny only had 1 loser,  many more  previous at lincoln

Some of you think you are missing something?

OK you take the A1 in reverse to me and i will wave as we pass in the day or night , but i can tell you one thing it will be me smiling as you get let down so many times.

I know i lived through the tripe of so called football from 1967 - 2012 when i found out that Disabled were looked upon as 2nd class citizens sat in the rain and damp dirty hardly lit cobweb infested non working locks on toilets with cold water .

So you can keep your ohhhhhh look at Lincoln City and their new owner or look at where their team is in the league guff!

Hope 1 or 2 of you enjoy that damn bloody air raid siren ....it might drown out you crying as you have just MISSED THE DONNY ROVERS Grant and team blitz the LIMPS .

I rest my case!

thinking of Lincoln .......  I always think of this result Ronnie Moore had just got sacked and his son scored a hattrick at Lincoln who I thought got relegated to Non League

https://www.skysports.com/football/lincoln-city-vs-rotherham-united/218734

There were actually joint Caretaker Managers for Rotherham - and it was obviously their first match - not what sky says --
and neither of them got the job

Who was the manager at Lincoln, a fair while back now, who got caught stuffing half bricks down the goalpost holes at one end? His players knew about it. The opposition, obviously, didn't. So long range pot shots was the plan.

He got caught because an opposition goalie, in the warm up, couldn't touch the bar although at every other ground he could. He told the ref. The ref got the groundsman and then it all went pear shaped for that manager. Oddly, the bloke in question had been a very cultured midfielder at Charlton I think?

Although I'm not certain, that sounds like something from the John Beck era.

I was searching the site ( trying to cheat) to find the answer but for some reason I can't find when you first told us this gem. Always a good laugh though.

That commentator on Radio Lincoln has orgasms when he's commentating.

Nothing wrong with bricks Peter Osgood preferred to work on a building site than sign for Arsenal
