It’s almost like an extension of the championship now. Obviously that’s still another level above, but clubs in L1 spending similar monies to mid table clubs in that league. I think if reality hadn’t dawned yet, then by now it should have; the dizzy heights of championship football again in the near to mid future (if ever) is a pipe dream

We could have seasons where we get close to the playoffs, but being realistic, it’s unlikely I think unless a lot falls into place. There’s always going to be clubs in this league that can buy and attract better players than us and by this virtue are much more likely to be at the top end of the league than we are. We recruited well in 2012/13. But that group of players wouldn’t get us near the top 2 in this day and age.
