Mods, there's hardly anyone on the forum right now, and it's obvious why. It's that bloody malware interference. I've had it all day myself.

Will someone please just answer the question. Is the site now completely buggered, or can it be seen to?

If it's the former, then we all need to be looking elsewhere.

We can always create a reddit forum at the worst case scenario, easy enough to setup unless someone already has done it.

I agree the site is becoming frustrating to use at the minute.

I just asked co-pilot the question below and got loads of blurb. After it ignored me on the first attempt - i finally got an answer

when you host a domain on ineos who gets the click payment from sedoparking.com when someone vists your domain is it ineos or the domain holder

Short answer: if you park a domain through IONOS/Sedo, the domain owner (the account that set up the parking) receives the click revenue — but you must enable the parking/monetisation in your IONOS control panel and link the domain to the Sedo/parking service; if someone else controls the IONOS account or the Sedo integration, payments go to that account

How it normally works
Domain holder earns clicks: IONOS offers domain parking via its Sedo partnership and states that when you forward an unused domain to their parking service, you generate revenue when visitors click ads on the parked page.

Sedo provides the ad monetisation: Sedo is the monetisation/parking partner that supplies the ad pages and tracking; IONOS acts as registrar/partner to make the service available to its customers.

Key point: the revenue is tied to the parking setup and the account that activated the Sedo/parking service — not automatically to IONOS as a company.

Common reasons you might not receive payments

Parking not enabled on your account — the domain must be parked via the IONOS control panel and linked to Sedo’s monetisation service.

Account ownership — if the domain is registered under someone else’s IONOS account (reseller, previous owner, or a company account), the payments will go to the account that controls the parking settings.

Registrar/partner arrangements — some registrars keep a share or route monetisation through their own Sedo/registrar integration; check the specific contract or product page for revenue-share details.

All of the above are described in IONOS’s domain parking documentation and Sedo’s registrar services overview

What to check right now
Log into your IONOS Control Panel and open the domain’s settings to confirm Domain Parking is active and that the domain is forwarded to the Sedo/parking service.

Confirm which account/email is listed as the domain owner/administrator — payments go to the account that set up the parking.

Look for monetisation or payout settings in the IONOS/Sedo interface (payment thresholds, payout method, tax info).

Read the IONOS parking terms or your contract for any revenue-share clauses; if unclear, contact IONOS support and ask specifically how Sedo click revenue is paid out for your domain

If you still aren’t sure
Contact IONOS support and ask: “Which account receives Sedo parking click revenue for domain example.com and how do I claim it?” — they can confirm the account and any revenue-share terms.

If you prefer, check Sedo’s Registrar Services documentation for how registrars and domain owners are paid under their partner programs.

Bottom line: parking revenue is intended for the domain owner who enabled the Sedo/IONOS parking service, but you must verify the parking setup and account ownership to ensure payments go to you.

This might or might not be irrelevant ????????????

You mean you actually read it?!

You don’t need a lie down, you need a bloody medal.

It does seem a bit odd that none of the VSC hierarchy have been online or enlightened us as to what is going on?

It's an absolute mystery, EfD. The VSC are normally very transparent in keeping us in the loop about everything.

I sincerely hope this isn't the end of the forum.

When the GCM appears I usually close the window I am using and just open up again after a Google search for vsc forum.
Sometimes it works for a while before it invades again.
It has become more of an irritant over recent weeks again and can often prevent me from accessing the site for a few hours.

It’s taking me 4 or 5 attempts minimum to access the forum so I’m just going to take a break for a while until it’s fixed.  :crying:

I agree, other than Silent Majority coming on and saying he's seen it (for the first time... Really?) there hasn't been a word from any of the Mods, disappointing to say the least.

This has been happening on and off for between a year and 18 months, don’t think it will ever be fixed, I don’t think anyone knows why it keeps coming back, hence the silence

According to Copilot AI, the clue about ad blockers appears to be a strong indicator.  Apparently there's all sorts of tracking and other scripts that run (almost entirely Javascript) that could be the root of the problem but apart from the two banners about joining the VSC and the FSA I don't see any ads on the site and certainly no pop-up ads.

Strange, there is an advert right at the top of the thread. I assumed that is paying for my use so I have never objected. However, when the cookies stuff comes up I abandon trying to get on. It is irritating and if somebody far more tech savvy than me can fix it so it never appears I would be very happy!

That's fair comment, Fal, but my remark was in reference to Mods coming on to answer the numerous calls for information about what is to be done about this persistent and long lasting problem.  Apologies if my meaning wasn't suitably clear.

I had better be clear there was a 50/50 chance the user hiding his identity was SM - not definite, I was typing away on the Ayaji to Bromley thread when the green monster  blocked me from posting probably because the TV commentator called a Bromley player a monster - and I couldn't do anything had to log out -

update
I now keep getting attacked by this green cookie - decided to allow more trackers to be able to post.

Pay someone to build a new modernised  website. Fairly straightforward solution. I’d imagine a lot of users would be happy to chip in too.

I agree, was mulling this over myself.  I'm sure if the reluctance of the decision-makers to come on here and give comment is due to the fact they know they can't remedy it and a new web host would be cost prohibitive then I would be willing to chip in to a crowd funder or whatever and suspect plenty of other regular users on here would willingly do so too.

Absolutely, mate. This is one of my hobbies, and I love writing.

I would be willing to spend a fair whack to help keep this site going.

If people are serious about a new fans forum it should be a clean sweep with none of the current mods etc etc involved.

Isn’t that throwing the baby out with the bathwater?
A lot of people have contributed a lot of time and effort over the years to set this up and keep it going. Surely their experience is of some value? It is a thankless task being a mod looking at some of the abuse hurled at them in the past. I certainly wouldn’t fancy it.

One thing is for sure, precisely zero people are going to put in the time to sort out a new forum.
