If  was a manager of a team that played The Rovers going down our left flank and trying to get McGrath and Maxwell isolated and one on one would be my main tactic and ambition.

After blowing his trumpet on another thread I'm big enough to say he wasn't at his best today. You fo need to take into account his opponents Jackson who had just dropped down from the Championship and Neufville who has always caused us problems. Would Senior have done better? We'll never know.

Players always play well when they are missing! They targeted Maxwell knowing he’s not fully fit having not played for weeks.

Mccann bangs the drum for players to stay ready so thats innacurate. Maxwell wasnt off the pace today, he was just crap

He essentially said in his interview he’s not been putting it in training.

Yet started. If hes not then hes shown bad management as he has Nicxon there who could have and more probably would have done a better job. Square pegs in round holes and all that but its better than having a player with a poor attitude in the starting 11

He didn’t say Maxwell, and he may have been thinking of someone else when he said it, but felt like it was aimed at Maxwell.

Id not listened to the RS interview but just have now. Think its aimed at the collective. Ulitimately this is his squad regardless of whos doing what. Its on him

Dont suppose you have a link to it stocks?

Aren’t both left backs out of contract at the end of the season

I wonder what Jim Watton is doing these days?

McCann's comments could equally be aimed at players not currently commanding a start. Hanlan, Maxwell, Gibson and Pearson could all be included

I agree. Feels like the comments were definitely about one or multiple that played some part in the game yesterday.

Thought we signed players largely based on character?

He is obviously not happy with at least two individuals, I think he names the players in another interview, who switched off.

I wouldn’t read too much into it, it is typical Grant who is obviously hurting.

In his interview he bemoaned the fact we failed to prevent the cross at least 3 times! So it's pretty obvious who one of the individuals is he was frustrated with and rightly so.

He was very consistent at the start of the season. Looked disinterested the last few weeks. I suspect that's why he's lost his place to Senior.

Maxwell lost his place to Senior because Senior is twice as good at football than Maxwell, I can’t understand how our fans don’t rate Senior, I think he was as big of a miss on Saturday as any of the other absentees

Never really bought into Maxwell. He’s had flashes, some good games and has a great feint which creates space to drive forward but overall I’ve never been convinced by the consistency of the final ball and he gets found out too much defensively. People have said it’s fitness, injury related or something else but we concede too much down the left. He looks a yard short of pace or lacking some core strength.
