I have never read such glowing remarks about any player leaving a club as those from Wrexham fans for Elliot Lee

All I know of him is from the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, but amongst the Hollywood spin he certainly seemed to consistently deliver the goals and performances through their three promotion seasons. Looks a great signing, and he says about 4 times about wanting to play for a manager who will put faith in him so it sounds like his days at Wrexham are over and a longer deal could be possible.

Whilst not first team match fit, surely he will have played reserve team fixtures during this time? Wrexham’s squad is huge so surely they operate a reserve team?

Without actually checking Wrexham seem to have about 40 players and they add to it every transfer window.

You could say the same about us!

He’s a class player, if we can get him up to speed quickly he could have a big impact.

Dare I say this is a signing we have needed for quite a few years, a proper midfielder with experience & a bit of physicality. Well done to our management & Terry.

Good signing seems to perform well in league one
Averages something like a goal every 3.5 games at this level!

Wow .... 36 positive comments on a player that has yet to kick a ball for us

What a contrast to the 115 largely negative comments on a certain CB last week

He gave everything for them from National League onwards. Guessing he's not far behind Mullin in terms of legendary status.

Great signing, remember him breaking our hearts with a stunner at their place to win it. Watching the documentary it seems like that's been a regular occurrence for him.

Get him straight in the starting 11 for Burton.

A defender who had a solid debut, does that mean Lee is gonna have a mare? Own goal and get sent off?

Be interesting to see how he is deployed by Grant when he gets his chance. Unlike any other player we currently have. Will he have to adapt how we play slightly?

But also hilarious that some of the same people who slagged fans off, stating you can’t judge a signing based on his CV and to not judge a player before he’s kicked a ball for us… are doing just that here.  :silly:

I’m gonna be an absolutely mentalist here and judge him based entirely on his CV and say I think this is a brilliant signing! Please don’t tell me off.

Yes, it sounds like he could be a contender for the no10 shirt in place of Clifton, if so do we lose the energy and back tracking of Clifton with him?

I'd like to see a player like him in a front 2 with a player like Francis alongside him.

Sounds like a very good signing for us.

This was possibly our best eleven in the first half of the season...

Gibson Hanlan Molyneux
Clifton
Broadbent Bailey
Maxwell McGrath O'Riordan Sterry
TLT

Now we're looking like this...

Adelakun Francis Molyneux
Lee
Gotts Bailey
JM/JS McGrath Byrne Sterry
Clark

The attacking part of the second half of the season definitely looks an upgrade.

If he puts a run of games together he’ll be our best piece of business this window.

I wonder if Grant might try him just off Hak whilst Frankie is out.

Enormous upgrade on Clifton quality wise long term, will require some tactical adjustments though I imagine but worthwhile for a player of his quality.

Great signing, he will more than likely play up front tomorrow and then compete with Clifton once Frankie is back in the team.

Clifton doesn’t really play as a no10 though does he. We have one holding midfielder and two more advanced in (generally) Clifton and Bailey. Not sure EL will cover the ground Clifton does, Bailey may have to be a bit more disciplined, sure Gotts, Bailey and Lee could make it work in there though.

Grant may be tempted to play him as a no9 in the absence of FO, don’t love that idea but we will see.

Positionally a #10 OOP to help win the ball then in possession similar to Bailey as pretty much a box to box mid.

I deffo wont as I was brought up NEVER to judge a man on one appearance by my dad and though hes no.longer with us I stick to that principle.

The nearest I got to breaking that tradition was with Herbie Kane who was having a great game the first time I saw him and my Seat Buddies said come on Wolfie say what you think

I said sorry Im sticking with my view that you should never judge a player on one appearance

Next game I saw him he beat 2 players in front of the Dug outs and half a yard apart and I said f*** it Ive waited longer than one game as its 1 game and 5 minutes ... hes bloody great

Maybe I should have waited longer because I was sure he would go right to the top but hasn't.

Some talent Herbie Kane. Body of an old man but if not I doubt he’d have seen L1 again for a lot of years.

Is he a bit slower than Clifton? Appears he is majorly superior in a technical sense.

On the very last day. Always a telltale sign of shit house owners.

They’re gonna benefit from Patrick Kelly ££’s down the line though, when we should’ve.

Patrick Kelly would have come to Doncaster but Barnsley ( and his agent ) got in first
