Patrick Kelly would have come to Doncaster but Barnsley ( and his agent ) got in first

Real missed opportunity. Unless I dreamt it they didn’t pay a fee either. Free transfer with a chunky sell-on %.

Alot of typical rovers fans slagged him off initially too.

From memory he started off well, then dropped off a few weeks (after a knock??), then kicked on again and looked very good. Would’ve been easiest decision of summer to go all out for him if I was king. A big upgrade on Clifton.

This was possibly our best eleven in the first half of the season...

Gibson Hanlan Molyneux
Clifton
Broadbent Bailey
Maxwell McGrath O'Riordan Sterry
TLT

Now we're looking like this...

Adelakun Francis Molyneux
Lee
Gotts Bailey
JM/JS McGrath Byrne Sterry
Clark

The attacking part of the second half of the season definitely looks an upgrade.

Be interesting to see how he is deployed by Grant when he gets his chance. Unlike any other player we currently have. Will he have to adapt how we play slightly?

Yes, it sounds like he could be a contender for the no10 shirt in place of Clifton, if so do we lose the energy and back tracking of Clifton with him?

I'd like to see a player like him in a front 2 with a player like Francis alongside him.

Sounds like a very good signing for us.

Clifton doesn’t really play as a no10 though does he. We have one holding midfielder and two more advanced in (generally) Clifton and Bailey. Not sure EL will cover the ground Clifton does, Bailey may have to be a bit more disciplined, sure Gotts, Bailey and Lee could make it work in there though.

Grant may be tempted to play him as a no9 in the absence of FO, don’t love that idea but we will see.

Yes, not a pure no 10 but Clifton in general play is the one who gets up to support the front man, whilst also being prepared to get behind the ball and lead the press when out of possession. Bailey of course, tries to make the odd blind side late runs into the box.

If memory serves, Lee is a very hard worked and is quite tenacious, so no reason (apart from fitness) why he couldn't cover the same ground as Clifton. He's definitely a good ball striker too so, this is where we'd hope just to see that bit of extra quality.

We’d probably have to play 2 6s with Lee so we get the best out of him. Clifton and Bailey often play so high together but it does leave us open. Having a better quality out and out 10 might mean we can balance that out

Lots of glowing comments on the Wrexham forum about him, 100% positive.
Several hoping he gets fit with us and goes back ready to play for them next season (assuming they don’t get promoted).

Yes some great comments from the Wrexham fans, treating him has a legend. Many commenting that they thought he would have gone to a club at top end of L1.
Although saying his lack of pace is most likely the only reason he’s not being played in championship, many feel he should have been included in more match day squads.
Obviously a good footballer, but also seems like he is a great guy to have in the dressing room and on the pitch, so should fit well into our group. If he his close to being match fit, he could be a huge signing.

Listened to the interviews and media put out on him last night. He comes across as a proper footballer. Confident, intelligent, charismatic, that reflects what he’s like on the pitch.

Just hope he’s fit and stays fit after missing a decent chunk of the season. Finally replaced Coppinger!

What does his stats look like?
A lot of us are interested, not like some that ridicule them
