Take a Bow TLT

In nightmare conditions, ushered in just before KO didn't put a foot wrong all night, made some great saves and commanded his box - well done young man

Got a round of applause from everyone in the dressing room after the game and he deserved it too. Well done to him.

Agreed, and against what was an absolute assault on the defence from Burton.

I wonder if Burton play like that every week or was it just the tactic against us to constantly get it in the box from anywhere, to see if we crumbled.

Some really good stops tonight. Everything pushed away from danger or held.
Still got me nervous in the 1st half when he rolls the ball down before kicking it away and invites the forward onto him. But deserves every praise tonight

Maybe it helps him with a gobby sod around the defence :)

Well played TLT, could be the making of him to come in like that at late notice and perform well in what was a backs to the wall effort.

TLT played a brilliant part in what was an excellent defensive performance.
It was like a bombardment all night - 20 corners and numerous crosses into the box and except for that one occasion, we weathered the storm and came away with 3 hard-earned points.

Well done TLT, well done lads.

Yes all the corners and crosses into the box were remarkable, I would be surprised if any other team we have to play will put our defence under anything like that amount of pressure from crosses.

I also thought he was going to drop a clanger when being closed down but he didn't and played well , does he play Saturday?

He might have to, if Clark's injury is worse than at first thought.

Despite the ball being exceptionally sticky in all that rain he seemed (from what was apparent from the extended highlights) to resolve to catch it whenever possible and when he didn't, he made sure he was pushing it away from the attackers. Competition has resulted in him sharpening up it seems.

Got a round of applause from everyone in the dressing room after the game and he deserved it too. Well done to him.

He did well yesterday.

But hardly won us the game with a string of world class saves. His contribution was no less vital than that of McGrath or Byrne or several other players.

A round of applause for doing your job competently seems to me a little condescending.

It reminds me of being at school when the teacher would single out the classroom dunce for praise for finally getting an answer to a question right.

Are you Roy Keane in disguise?

I think you are selling him short there. He came in at very short notice in awful conditions and dealt with an aerial bombardment all night. Yes the defenders helped but he took a fair few out the air. Not only that it was him that spread the ball up to Lee to set up the penalty.
In my opinion even if Zander was fit for the weekend I would play TLT this weekend after that showing.

What goes on in the dressing room is up to the players and staff, it could easily have been the players, maybe Bailey, who led the round of applause. Maybe they understood more than most TLT had been though a torrid time and merited the reaction and support.

He found out 15 mins before kick off he was playing, I was watching him and he was very relaxed  , laughing and joking. And when he was told he was playing he changed and switched himself on.
He had a great game but the fact he had to jump in at such short notice in conditions as they were was superb!

Probably our MoM for me today. Poor from everyone but he made a number of good saves and a few strong punches under pressure.

Hope the score line doesn't get in his head.

I don’t think you could pick a mom, but he wasn’t to blame for any of the goals.

Looking at the highlights I noticed something which I’d remarked on before. When he dives he does not extend his arms fully thus reducing the extent of his reach which is significant. Take a look…

TLT was at High Wycombe station waiting for the 6:28pm train towards Birmingham. My son was overjoyed to have his picture with him and we rightly told him that he was the man of the match for Rovers today. He was very appreciative and comes across as a very nice guy. We need to get behind him over the next few weeks as he has shown over the last 2 performances that a confident TLT is a valuable one!

The third and fourth I thought he should have saved. The third if you focus on him as soon as mols heads it.. the scorer shifts it onto his right, TLT doesn’t move and he only reacts when he hits it. A good keeper shifts his feet and gets back into the middle of the goal before the player hits it. The fourth I’m not sure what he’s doing with his arms, ball just seems to go through him. The defending for all 4 goals is repulsive however.

Exactly. Good GKs do the basics well, like positioning and getting back to their feet rapidly, so that they are better positioned to make saves and deal with follow-ups  TLT is unconventional to say the least.

Dreadful penalties from them. He was also our best player in the 90 tbf, kept us in it.
