We have gained three points all season in matches where we conceded first.

Since they we have lost every game in which we concede first.

It is the lack of mesters in the squad. There are none at all. Those types are vital if we are going to do anything in this division. The sort who takes defeat as an affront to their manhood, rather than an occupational hazard

Do you not think Bailey, Clifton, Senior, Gotts, Byrne, McGrath are not grafters who give it everything?

We lack quality more than effort.

Cardiff are top of the league with a team made up of kids. There are quite a few teams of expensively assembled “mesters” in behind them unable to chase them down.

This is like something out of Mike Bassett. The game has moved on immeasurably from the times when passion and desire were the be all and end all.

Sports science and the need for recovery are far more important nowadays. There was no way the same team should have started today after grinding it out at Burton on Tuesday.

We'd actually get more value from a masseur than a mester.
