I imagine if we get Plymouth away then they will stay down in plymouth for the week since we play them again in the league on the saturday. Would be awful for the fans however to go down there twice.

Home game would be nice, ideally not want to play Stockport since they seem to have our number.

Best chance of progressing to the final has to be home tie v northampton surely.

And im sure the northampton fans will be thinking exactly the same about us.

I think he probably means that Stockport have done the double over us this season. The only team that has up to now.

It’s a diminished competition since they allowed Premiership U21 teams to join in.
I haven’t attended a single game since then, it’s my personal protest about that ridiculous decision.

Hoping for a home draw against Northampton.

Pull that bandwagon up, I’m jumping aboard ……

Cup games are usually more open than league games and it suits us better.

Hard to imagine any outcome other than away at Plymouth or failing that Stockport.

I agree this competition doesn’t appear to be as exciting as it once was, and we won’t get 12,000 as we did v Crewe, way back,  if indeed we do get a home draw for the semi, however, why is it diminished due to U21’s playing? have other teams who previously were allowed to compete had to drop out to make room for them? Also I believe the Prem clubs pay to enter this competition. I can’t grasp what the big gripe is.

As did the Terriers. All set to boycott the Final  they said , but beating us was a foregone conclusion

Instead it was a "4 gone " into Tim's gloves or onto.Bar. pmsl

The PL clubs do indeed pay to let their U21s enter the competition.
I think I am right in saying that we get something like £600k.
Someone connected with Rovers told me a couple of years ago and I believe that some of it has to be allocated to young players development.

So far, to the best of my knowledge:-
20k entry
10k Everton U21
10k Grimsby
10K Bradford
20k Chesterfield
40k Fleetwood
50k Huddersfield

160k in total

Plus another £150k to come (plus TV) by the time Bailey lifts the cup at Wembley. All the better.

Whatever peoples views are on this competition, it’s been really useful for us this season to get competitive game time for all our squad.

I don't get why it would be when the attendances in previous rounds have been poor.

One game from Wembley. I don’t mind admitting, I haven’t been arsed about the comp. But the thought of a night under the lights at home, with a trip to the smoke on offer has a certain appeal. Esp as there is only one leg. I bet Stockport will be very well supported for this one .

Just seen they have  a game every Tues/Sat until the 7th March so they will possibly rest players for this.

I actually don't think they are that good, we were the better team in the first half at home with their dirty tactics, think their first goal was a worldie if i recall and we just fell apart.
