Old Rovers Programmes
« on February 12, 2026, 06:25:16 pm by comeonrovers »
Hi Guys,

I am a donny fan living in Torquay, My dad was a massive donny fan and used to take me to all the games in the conference years, Farnborough, Welling, Leek Hednesford etc. I actually did work experience at donny just as John Ryan took over when we first fell into the conference, met Dave Penney, Mark Hume amongst others.

He passed away 18 years ago and passed down lots of football programmes some ranging back to the 80's and have further from earlier 50/60's i think.

Me and my partner are now moving over to Greece and we're clearing out our house before we move towards the end of the year.

If anyone is interested in taking the programmes off my hands, i can post them, I wont ask for any money for the programmes only postage. If anyone is interested, let me know and i can arrange a private chat :)

I also have some of the Charles Buchan magazines from the 60's one of them is the world cup edition i believe from 1966 and some Bruce Springsteen LPs that have been bitten by our spaniels

I really hope Rovers pick up this year, when my dad passed away we were bottom of the championship and then we destroyed forest at the city ground and it was all great from there.  In SOD we trusted and so we should with Mccann

Thank you Micky,

I wanted to hand them over to someone who may enjoy them.  There aren't too much but i do have a cracker from 1947!  Theyve been sat in my wardrobe for years so thought i'd pass them on to someone who would appreciate them more

Hello comeonrovers
I’m heading down to watch us at Exeter in early April with Mrs Lincoln Rover.
We’ve got a few days staying in Torquay. If there aren’t too many programmes we will, happily bring them back & offer these to the great lads promoting the Rovers museum. Would that be ok ?
Perhaps we could talk via PM a bit closer to the time.
Regards.
Derek.

Thank you Lincoln for your comments there. We very much like your suggestion and offer.

To let people know, with the museum project we are looking to catalogue all the programmes we have (and we have about 3,000) but many are duplicates and we don't have so many that go back to the 50's and 60's

What the plan is, is to hold two copies of as many programmes as we can and any excess we will donate to the Supporters Club for them to sell in their shop on a matchday as this provides funds that they in turn put into the club.

This also applies to anyone else looking to have a clear out of any Rovers stuff that they have (not just programmes). Just get in touch with us (Silkscarf and myself on here) and we'll take it from there.

Thanks Colin & Rich.
