A mid table finish & a trophy at Wembley would be hailed as an excellent season.

Perhaps I ought to say ‘should’ be hailed.

I think we will attain both.

Then we recruit better.

If Grant didn’t take a break last pre-season in order to get the ‘right signings’ over the line, it didn’t work.

Have a break Grant.

I told you we were poor. Well today we were piss poor! Looking at our next run of games I can’t see us getting out of the situation we’ve got ourselves into. But hey ho, it’s not your problem.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Only saying what I see CR, you watch your game and I will comment on what I see in a game.
We got away with it today, against any other side in this division there is a very good chance we would not  have, or the referee leaving him on the field of play, being a local derby and the timing helped our cause with that.
Celebrate the win, we were poor, they were worse and we need to be better than that the rest of the season or there is trouble ahead IMHO, we are way better than that and will need to be.

Funny isnt it, still slagging off recruitment, yet hanlan got the goal, there was noway Billy was today. Plus Middleton has been slagged off yet played well.

Its not about the recruitment. There are so many permatations for everytging to gel right at the same time we have a crowd for 13th. Therefore the recruitment has been right.

Sometimes we have outplayed lots of teams and lost, yet been outplayed and won.  Every club has thosr stories.

The season so far is a success. Wembley, spurs game  and mid table would be unbelievable. Yet the recruitment has been not upto scratch apparently.

I think taking into account the typical ups and downs for any club, we have been spot on and in some cases have sone real beauties of which Im convinced will only be here because of Mccann.

Gaz Molyneux was behind the ball and the keeper was the last to touch it and was robbed by him, he couldn't be offside.

Selby have a day off mate, first half was extremely poor yes but second half we dominated the game but to suggest there is trouble ahead is baffling. We're gonna lose some of the last 14 games no doubt but i think and ive said all long that we will be fine this season. 3 or 4 more wins should do it coupled with a few draws along the way.

Grant quick quote on BBC radio Sheffield was if he could make 10 changes at half time he would have done.

Could be an interesting bus ride home and next week in training

What a great result but how many times is he saying that these days?

He’ll be fine mate, he’ll go home watch the Harrogate game on VHS and cream himself over Bobby’s 20 min appearance and be good to go again

Not until he has watched Flints performance in their 3-0 defeat to AFC Flyde and declares him the second coming of Rob Jones...

Set up first half was all wrong, we weren’t set up to press or compete. Fair play to Grant, he changed it at half time and gave us what we need - more muscle in the middle, and much my dynamism going forward. As others have said, all the subs had a blinder - Middleton unplayable and has to have played him self in to the starting 11, same with Hanlan while Francis is coming back.

In the first half Robbie Gotts was being asked to combat a midfield 3 on his own, that move to bring Middleton and particularly Clifton on made a complete change around possible. We need to remember that for next Saturday, if we are short in midfield Cardiff will be out of sight before we can react.

It often happens. Whoever our holding midfielder is gets left on their own with Bailey and the other partner too high/wide. We look terrible when it’s stretched like that.

Wish we would address it at the start of games as it’s been the same since last season so is just how Grant likes us to play

Byrne-Offside" border="0

Hard to say...don't think Hanlan touched it on the way across either.

Yes at this point in the picture Hanlan is on. However he was offside when the ball was played forward and still off side when the ball was crossed. Offside by a distance when both passes were made.

Seen multiple angles of it now and Hanlan is on. And so is Byrne for his goal by the by.

Anyone notice the Gibson slide tackle late on? I don’t know what was said at half time but it certainly got people doing things they don’t usually do!

Don't know why people are saying McGrath should have got a red card card.
It was definitely a penalty but he wasn't the last man as we had a player defending on the line.
Yellow card was the correct decision.

If Grant walked at half time I couldn't have cared less, that performance was a shambles but fair play made the changes & boy did it work. I have been critical of Jay but after that mistake he was immense (as he was Tuesday apart from his passing) I think Byrne is making him a better player & I'd love to sign him in the summer, Clifton & Middleton were excellent & the latter needs a run in the team, maybe Okoronkwo coming back will be good for Middleton as there is someone to get on the end of his fantastic crosses, big up for Hanlon today too, what happened with the head injuries to a Clifton & Senior after the goal?

Just watching the second half back. The Byrne handball in the box is pretty clear. Got away with one there.

Their keeper got away with a straight red as he controlled the ball with his arm, during his brain fart!
Evens itself out.

That second goal with there keeper way out of ground reminded me of Neil Sullivan at Yeovil that time.I was at the win 40 years ago . A 3-2 win on a mud bath if I remember right.
