That line up was absolutely shite mate!

One game from taking the young fans to Wembley and you do that.

Very lucky not the be 4-0 down at half time, it was obvious changes were required after 20 minutes.

Terrible.

Totally agree , Stockport played a full strength squad and we make 10 changes ,Not impressed at all with that first half performance

I thought the subs were pretty strange as well. Maxwell was one of our only decent players in the first half and was hooked. No way Gibson and Sharp should've lasted 90 mins. Adelakun brought on far too late and when he did he was having to play deep so McGrath could go forward? We looked like a team that didn't have a clue.

agree with maxwell
However was always gonna happen when changing to a back 3 and adelakun offered nothing and close would of been better staying on

Playing four wingers at the end just screams youve run out of ideas. And lets say we'd snatched a goal at the end, you'd want Ben Close taking a penalty wouldn't you.

McCann is frustrating thd life out of me at the moment. Why would you even start Broadbent and Robinson together? Both were non existent.

And yeah, lets keep playing mcgrath because he's left footed and gives us balance supposedly. That left foot keeps giving possession away every single game. Thump and kiss the badge and all is forgotten.

Anyone know why we have a wall that doesn’t jump against probably the best free kick taker in the competition?

Not one to slag the manager but you could see what was going to happen as soon as the team was announced - think my disappointment peaked then so the result didn’t hurt so much

We are an under strength squad without little experience of L1 . McCann over stretched the squad’s capabilities and its reliance on Mols and Bailey to support the lack of a striker with their goals . If L1 is secured for next season then we need more height and pace at both end of the pitch . A clear out of players who have just not been consistent or impacted need moving on or McCann needs to just close the door on this at the end of the season.

The makeup of the wall changed. Pearson was in it, then he wasn’t. Looked very unorganised.

Amazing how many people are bothered about the competition now we’re not getting our trip to Wembley. Personally I’m more bothered about the complete and utter dross of a performance. Players not taking responsibility, just going through the motions and the sheer lack of any quality with clearances, crosses and shooting. Why the f@ck are we so hell bent on going wide and into dead ends when there is clear space to run into through the middle? We made their keeper make one save. It’s not good enough. Let’s hope we can get enough points on the board as quickly as possible now and hope the penny finally drops when recruiting.

McCann must have seen their team lineup and realised he’d made mistakes but he was giving them an opportunity to make their mark .. 1-0 down was not a disgrace and 4 subs  straight after proved nothing and got even less . Simple facts are we are just not competitive enough on any given match day .  We have 6 at best players of L1 quality and the rest are just also rans ..

Dreadful from McCann. Not a cup i’m massively interested in anymore but Wembley is massive for the club, the city, young fans and potential new fans. Can’t fault the players work rate but the damage was done with the line-up and it’s thanks to Zander Clark that McCann isn’t having to talk about a real paggering.

- Sharp v a team that play 3 at the back. Dumb.

- Throwing Robinson into that midfield up against the likes of Norwood. Laughable.

That midfield 3 should never be a combo we opt for. We were shit V a very weakened Huddersfield, what did he expect was going to happen tonight?

I know they don’t get involved in team selections and tactics but Baldwin should be dragging him in tomorrow and asking him wtf he was playing at.

Agree with all that but especially Sharp, he looked like a lost little boy up against them units.

Mcann has always stated the league is the priority and the cup are just an added bonus.

He has always used the cups to play fringe players and they are the ones who have got us here so why did anyone think he would go against that.

Lots of people didnt give 2 s**ts about this cup and moaned when grant brought on better players in previous rounds incase they got injured.
Now they moan because he didnt start them.

The end goal is to stay in this league.
Sod the distraction of wembley, all that brings is players trying to avoid an injury so they dont miss out on that big day.

McCann should apologise all those fans who went to the game tonight. It doesn't bother me that I won't be going to Wembley to watch Rovers, been there, done that and got the t-shirt. But how many young supporters has he disappointed who will not get the chance of going to Wembley .
We might not have won the game anyway but he should have put his best 11 out there from the start.

We have lost to them twice this season playing our strongest team what made Mcann think we could do any better with 9 changes! Understand loyalty to players but its a semi final. Im a McCann fan but thats  huge error of judgement tonight with that selection

Disrespectful to the fans in my opinion. One game from Wembley and he lets the reserves have a run round. It’s not under 8’s Sunday league where everyone needs a chance. Shocking manager. Picks his team Saturday on who did ok for 30mins in the previous game, then this joke line up tonight, and looks like he’s picking subs out of a hat. Crying out for Gotts but leaves him off.

If we’d have lined up right and turned up we’d have won that.

To be fair he’s done it all season, and we weren’t complaining when we went to probably the best side in the championship and stuffed them 4-0

Was a disorganised mess from start to finish. Not the best few days for Grant. Adelakun for Close, who was starting our attacks nicely from deep and is possibly our best penalty taker, only for Haks to also play deep (???), was a bizarre change.

Disrespectful my arse.

The reserves got us here tonight. The reserves thumped boro 4-0.

Why look to appease the ones who are coming out of the woodwork hoping for a day out in the big smoke.

Maybe they should come and get behind the boys in the imprtant games first. Not come hoping for the glory matches and then crawl away when it gets hard.

the reserves got us here against mainly other reserve teams, Bradford made 8 changes against us

We can be disappointed about tonight but if we stay in this league it an achievement.
The midfield is our Achilles heal. Not enough drive and no power even in the second half.
But I do question Grants selection in there. Robinson I'm afraid is not ready Clse is the best football player and Broadbent did not do enough. But all three are deep lying midfield at there best. Wrong choice to play all three together.
Bailey came on yet he doesn't have the skill set to be a really goood midfield player.
Grant plays one infront of the defence and two attacking. Yet that leaves the midfield open.
Stockport played three but two sitting and one attacking for most of the game.
We have Bailey Broadbent Gotts and Close for that role if we have two sitting. We have Clifton and Lee who could play the attacking role both okay but not brilliant.
