Well done boys!

A massive, massive 3 away points against our local rivals at this stage of the season makes that table look almost breathable to look at !

Well done Grant for setting up the team with one recognised forward, no Mols threat & yet we weren’t settling for a point.

Very proud.

Even more important when Mansfield, Orient, Burton and Wigan all won and we need to keep pace.

Agree, really pleased tonight…

What is with Grant and inverted wingers, playing Middleton on the right is so so wrong, he has little impact on his preferred left, sticking him on the right?
Inverted wingers have not worked for us at all this season, and Grant needs to think about this for next season. Either better quality or players playing to get the ball in the box.

Great win. I still think 50 points will be enough as can't see any of the bottom 3 getting there and Exeter look a lost cause, but not taking anything for granted and hope we continue to push forward.

That's also 4 unbeaten now with 2 very winnable home fixtures coming up. Hopefully a positive result on Tuesday and then a well earned breather ahead of the next game on Good Friday.

Not the most free flowing performance ever but solid and assured. Well worth the win. Proud of that one, makes such a change to see us looking tight at the back again.

Middleton on the right as predicted was terrible. Gibson had a really good game despite tossers in the away end goading his substitution

It’s something really quite nasty sneaking in the game from so-called supporters of most clubs now.

I think that some supporters just a dislike to certain players and then in their eyes they are fair game and can never do anything good. Sad but that is the only logic that I can see.

There can't have been many of them. All I heard for a lot of the game was "Jordan Gibson's on fire", including when he was subbed.

He was well worth the plaudits as well. Worked his b*ll*cks off.

Following on from last Tuesday we have hit on a formula that whilst not being very expansive and exciting has again proved to be very effective for us.

All season we have struggled at the back not looking safe and secure but also being a bit leaden footed and slow to turn and cover attacking players. We have worked on this for a long period of time and have hit a happy medium of sticking to a steady and consistent back four, nothing flash or likely to be explosive but all four have covered each other, worked as a unit and most importantly not held onto the ball too long risking loosing possession in dangerous areas, our more direct play forward had taken some of the pressure off the back four, when you add in the terrier instincts of Gotts protecting in front it has been almost transformational, when was the last time we were collecting clean sheets? this has been massive for us as we don't score many so when we do it means we have a chance of the points.

This confidence at the back, including both TLT and Clark having improving games has raised the confidence of the team all around allowing us to pass and hold onto the ball better and find some penetrative play when able, the quality today wasn't great as in most local derby's where the sides have increased motivation but what we did do was keep them off balance and restrict their supposedly effective frontline.

The added assurance of having players like Haks and Clifton to come on late on with fresh legs and plenty of running has also been transformational for us, earlier in the season we were finishing games looking very leggy and drained, this setup has allowed us to be still effective at the back end of games, injury time mins now don't look so threatening to us as previous.

Good to see the GM has hit on a system that both the players and management can progress and finish the season off in a much better fashion giving us some hope and belief for next season where we can assess where we need some additional quality to allow us to maintain an effective challenge throughout the season.

Well done lads, always great to have one over the neighbours, they nicked one from us at home earlier in the season, we made no mistake this time.

Agreed Scawsby.

I can’t remember the last time Gibbo chased back so much and got tackles in.
Great to see.

And overall, what a well-deserved win that was. Yes, it was a penalty that won it but we dominated that game for long periods and Barnsley were second-best all over the pitch.

A brilliant away-day and I’m still smiling like a Cheshire Cat.

Not sure it’s sneaking into the game. You only have to look at posts on here when it doesn’t quite go right. Gotts, Broadbent, Clifton, Sterry’s ponytail, early days Molly, TLT and the latest one being McGrath all getting crap from so called supporters that have never kicked a ball professionally in their lives. Ridiculous.

There’s a world of difference between having an opinion on a player’s ability that’s aired here and abusing a player at the game.

So hiding behind a keyboard makes it ok then. Abuse is abuse as is stupidity, some players don’t even have to kick a ball after being signed, and ‘supporters’ have ago. It’s so pathetic.
Never a true saying ‘don’t get to high and don’t get too low’.
Bigger picture and all.

There have been some occasions when players have been booed and abused by fans at games too.
I recently recall TLT being sarcastically cheered after making an easy save, Gibbo being jeered after hitting a shot, shouts made to Grant to gets Mols off the pitch, Hanlan being told he should be nowhere near a place in the team and plenty of other players being castigated at games.

Yeah its been one of the awful things from this season listening to so called supporters slagging off the players, TLT against Plymouth i was so embarrassed to be a fan and ashamed of the south stand. Mcgrath getting pelters too, its like they forget they are league one footballers and sadly are prone to the odd mistake or two. Its football.

I think also it has a tendency to be younger supporters (though not always) who have only really known Rovers having some of the best periods in our history ever, when its gone downhill from there the frustration has built up in some. resulting in some nasty attitudes prevailing.

When i think of some of our older supporters and the absolute mediocrity and rubbish they had to put up with and endure, in some instances for years it makes you think just how much worse some could take it!

Like stated earlier, don't let the highs get you too high and the lows get you too low. When you support a team like ours it helps to have a sense of humour and a strong constitution!

People slagging Gibson off when subbed today are a disgrace. #daytrippers

As are the ones who were slagging Hanlan off again from the start.

You pay £27 to see your team taking on one of your all time rivals, and start from the kick off criticising a player who ran his blood to water for the team today. I just don't get people.

Didn't hear much criticism of Hanlan on Saturday but generally, as I've said before, the flak he gets is so unfair. He's not perfect but he should've had a lot more game time this season. He leads the line well and makes a nuisance of himself. Without him up front we don't (or can't) give opposition centre backs anywhere near enough to think about. Although I'd look to add more quality competition to that position for next season, he's a good player and a handy option to have in the squad.

My one criticism of him from some of the recent games is can he maybe get his shots off a bit earlier when played in? On a couple of occasions he seems to have hesitated and lost the opportunity. Not seen the one back from Saturday where he was tackled (fantastic defending btw) but at the time it looked like he could've maybe got the shot off a tad earlier before the defender had chance to get a foot in.

Around me it’s almost exclusively people older than 60s moaning from the first misplaced pass about the same players week in week out. The younger ones tend to be responsible for the vast majority of the atmosphere. Just my opinion.
