Won 5-0 away at Scunthorpe
Mickey Norbury hat-trick
Later that same day I had my car nicked outside the Leadmill but that’s another story

I was also at the game and seem to remember the Leadmill too. No idea who was on tho,and it wasn't me that nicked your car! Do you remember who played the Leadmill?

Yes it was L7 supported by Wool.
Often used to go there on a Saturday night.
2 or 3 bands plus an indie disco afterwards until 3am.
No fannying about having to get a ticket in advance either.
Just turn up and pay in the door and usually less than a tenner.
When we came out of the venue and there was no car I had to find a phone box.
When I got through to the police they told me they’d found the car.
It was abandoned at the notorious flats which overlook the city.
Went with a couple of policemen to pick the car up.
They had to hot wire it to start it as the ignition was knackered.
Went back to the station to give a statement and finally got back to Crowle around 6 on Sunday morning.

L7 must have been the time when they made a rather notorious appearance on a late channel 4 show (name has escaped me). I think they also played Reading that year.

That's the one! Back to the game, surprising how few fans we had at Scunny. How times have changed.

It's not on this list , but a good few memories are

Thanks Turnbull, but the link won't work for me. However if it's the one I'm thinking of(seen one before), I was amazed how many gigs I'd been to on the list although I did live there for a good few years. I'm wondering if it was the Fall that night as I saw them on numerous occasionally there.

My mate was at uni there so we had free digs whenever, so went leadmill / uni / octagon once fortnight. We reckon to have seen Coldplay and Radiohead as support bands amongst others . And when I say seen , I mean stand in little bar and pay no attention.

'kin hell Turnbull, did you kip on my floor/sofa.? Saw Oasis there supporting some group, again memory let's me down . It kicked off in a big way with the BBC and Guvnors, also the Happy Mondays supporting the Shamen and exactly the same. Jazz on on Sunday lunch time was a lot more chilled but often smelt of vomit from the night before!
