In the league 1 playoffs than this bunch? I don’t think there has. All of them absolutely woeful. Fair to say none of them are anywhere near the standard required for the championship.

Bolton are a very good football team. Bradford on the other hand…

Stockport have been good whenever I’ve seen them.

The other 3 are very average, I’ll give you that.

I'm not sure how our current team would have gone on, but GM's team that played at Charlton in that play-off in 2019 would have mullered any of those 4 teams.

How on earth Bradford did so well this season is beyond me.

Shocking defending for the Bolton goal.

4worse teams? This was supposed to be a really difficult division before the start of the season. I am not being delusional, Rovers were in the top 6 in the division after Xmas, and again we have the "teams are too strong for us" themes are developing, names mean nothing, Rovers might well improve for a summer recruitment, it is time to be hopeful, not full of doom.

Watched the game last night. Dreadful, both teams couldn’t control the ball or string two passes together for most of it. The ball spent most of the time in the air.
Apart from a 10 minute spell in the second half, Bradford were like a Sunday league team.
Awful watch.

To be honest I’ve not been that impressed with anyone other than Lincoln, Cardiff and Stockport this season. The rest were very average once we stabilised ourselves.

That drop in mid season form started by, in the main, horrendous errors by individuals, have cost the team dearly.

4-5 more wins would have got us in the playoffs- and we were shockingly bad for a long period. That is easily achievable next year, unfortunately the league does look to be getting stronger.

The amount of times I came away from games thinking we should have won that comfortably - Barnsley, Burton, Wigan to name a few. Fine margins which we need to fine tune for next season.

If you think the playoffs bunch are so crap what does that say about Rovers? We didn't even get in the top half of the table.

It is league one, get a couple of good attackers and strong defenders and you'll win it.  Just look at the last title we won in this league, big centre halves and some attackers that could win games.  When we went with the big centre halves our form was clearly pretty good (play off form second half of the season), it is very fine margins at this level.  We're close to being in that bunch, we're another team that don't look particularly great but we're also not rubbish.

There were too many times last season when we actually were truly rubbish.

When you review the season you note that we were very one dimensional for the most part, when we attempted to change it was usually after someone giving us a drubbing during or the next game after.

When our wide attack failed to materialise we looked very average, it was also a case that we mostly needed to score first to prevent a loss.

When we did click we looked the part and for a few personal mistakes and loss of concentration errors we should have closed out many more games.

Also thought our lack of an alternative effective central striker for a large part of the season held us back massively.

Or is it perhaps that they were all playing within themselves, as it were, for fear of losing?

Listen if you finish in the playoffs over 46 games you deserve it - style of play doesn’t come into it you’ll always get good footballing teams and physical teams. It’s about getting the balance right we’ve won and lost playoff games by being hard to beat and and nicking a goal. Unless you’re Southend :-)
