The Elliot Lee I watched played as a No.10……& not with great success.

Lee would probably had more success with a striker that works the channels and creates that space to go into, for example the game against Orient at home where Frankie was moving about and creating the space to move into and opportunities.

I think Lee did well with what he had to work with and got a couple of crucial goals and assists that kept us up.

I would'nt be surprised if one of the forwards we trying to get is Alfie,he is the type of forward Grant likes, hardworking, full of running, his family still live in Bircotes, may have to be a loan,I know nothing, just a guess.

Huddersfield have signed Ashley Fletcher from Blackpool. Just a bit of difference in stature between him and Alfie!

Grant said when he signed Lee that he could play 9 or 10 or “around them areas”.

https://youtu.be/punqFGfn5AY?is=Dz6KZjd0Rcb_jrs2

For me he didn’t really have the legs to play as a McCann attacking midfielder. Then asking him to play as a lone 9 was crazy because he’d never done that in his career. Wrexham played him in a front 2 with Ollie Palmer when he was played as a striker.

I think Grant has had the weekend in the US (non football related) so probably will not be back in the ‘office’ until tomorrow? I guess we’ll get to know a bit more then!

I have heard one or two things lately, from a good source, but I can’t possibly divulge, otherwise that info route will very quickly evaporate.
Whats the point in mentioning it if you’re not going to elaborate?

Sometimes people just like saying I know something you don’t know nah nah nah

Come on DVR, that’s a bit childish to say the least. Basically, all I was doing was re-enforcing what Selby has reported. It seems there are a few who have heard the jungle drums beating, so there’s probably something in it. It may prove to be garbage, but the nearer we get to the end of June, the more chance that GM will be getting his targets sorted.

No it isn’t childish more apt Alan and it isn’t just aimed at yourself others do it. If you can’t say anything then it’s better not to post you know something

He’s kept that one as well, because don’t forget he used to work in the building trade so he’ll know the benefits own keeping hold of property. His wife is from Harworth/Bircotes so that’s why he’s been seen locally

Alfie plays cricket for a local village team.

is he taller than Harry Pilling was ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Pilling

Harry Pilling (23 February 1943 – 22 September 2012) was an English cricketer. Standing just 5 feet 3 inches (1.60 m) tall he had the distinction of being the shortest English professional cricketer of modern times.[1] A right-handed batsman, Pilling scored over 15,000 first-class runs for Lancashire, for whom he played county cricket from 1962 to 1982.[2]

I’d be very happy with Joe Taylor, I imagine he earns a fair bit though. He’s a very good. Quality league 1 player.

Mansfield may regret it then. I think I saw he’d signed for a year with them (on Sky Sports yesterday).

He would be a very exciting acquisition. Played a big part in Wigan’s survival last season (with some heroics from Mr Tickle).

He signed for Huddersfield in January 25 on a 4.5 year deal and an undisclosed fee. So the only way we could attract him is a loan and paying his full wages, not going to happen.

He might be Championship bound. Plenty of interest in the gossip columns.

Very unlikely he's on our radar.

It's not that the radar is broken it's having the funds in a competitive market to improve it with better parts.

Of the 24 clubs in our league, how many have brought in more players than us, where do we sit by comparison?

I'm interested because we often have complaints coming through when only a few teams have done any business.

The answer is none. Notts and Cambridge have signed the same number as us. The problem lies with the positions we have to fill.

Only if we don’t fill them.!
