the only time he had stepped on to the pitch this season and he assisted a goal only looking at the stats now i have found out :)

he must have set mutch up against borough am i right...?

in a way im surprised they even give something like that as an assist, lets be fair it was a goal from nowhere. lol

It was Heffernan who set up Mutch for that goal. Came off the centre-half to take a pass from left midfield (possibly from McDaid?), controlled the pass and laid it off inside into Mutch's path.

Course, since everyone knows that Heffernan can't play in an O'Driscoll side, maybe that was an illusion and it really was McDaid who did it.

Stretching it a bit to count an assist to anyone for that goal.  FFS it could surely only count as a midfield pass whoever made it, Mutch did the lot if you ask me.

Anyone that made the last pass to the scorer gets an assist, just because it was a long way out doesn't mean it wasn't an assist by McDaid (or whoever passed it to him). If Mutch had tackled the defender and scorered, then yeah, no assist, but anything otherwise...
