Just like a library

Couldn't have put it any better myself.

Same week in week out, can't blame the Keepmoat for sound, can always hear the away end where ever you sit perfectly and loud. Really hope something is sorted for next season. Bet our players feel like they are playing away from home when their at the Keepmoat.

From where the fella sits I thought we made a fair bit of noise ..When we did.. The drum kept beating...

However............

I didn't realise the gane had ended ..I was sitting there thinking why is shouty chap waffling on in the middle of the game...lol  By then the sound had died a complete death. Ho hum make of that what you may.

The poor atmosphere is down to the \"new fans\" who are used to seeing us win week in week out. When things aren't going our way they just stop with the encouragement!!!When at belle vue we would sing regardless and a victory was always that bit sweeter as there was no big expectations like there is now!!!! Get back to sing the more traditional chants non of this new rubbish half the supporters don't know....

I sit in the middle of the west stand and you can barely hear the south stand but the away supporters always make much more noise. Something needs to be sorted if it isn't don't mention it any more!

I'm not sure if that's entirely true? My old man has been going for over 30 years, and he's never been singer, and I'm sure there's plenty of long-time supporters the same.

And if it is all \"new fans\" that are contributing to the poor atmosphere, it doesn't matter if you get back to the old songs or not, as they won't know them either?  :S

The singers just need to keep on singing and hope that new generations of rovers supporters join in. Singing support cannot be forced on fans, like some here seem to think.

Just had this conversation in the office this morning.

Football fans appear to be homoganised.

Last week away at Wednesday and previously at Leicester our fans sang : \"Just like a Library\", \"Shall we sing a song for you\", Your supposed to be at home\", and so on....... We came away saying \"God they were quite, they just sat there\"

At the Keepmoat the (insert Club) sing  (see above), they go home saying (see above).

What ever happened to originality. I am slowly getting bored with the whole subject.  :S

I must have been at a different Belle Vue from you for all those years... for big cup nights or local games it was decent, but for run of the mill league games like last night it was just as bad as the Keepmoat.

Agree with Rovers Return, home fans are generally quieter than away fans and this subject really is starting to bore the arse off me now.

Was going to start a post of this myself. How true was that chant. I know we say we need the players to make us get going and players say they need us to get them going, but there was neither last night. Atmosphere had been great last few home games, I couldn't believe it at the end when I saw someone with a drum, never heard it once.

The thing that gets me at the Keepmoat is the number of people that leave early. There were 100's of people walking out with 10 mins left last night. It can't help the players much when they see the stands emptying around them when they are still playing.

I've never understood why people leave a football match early. What exactly are people rushing to get to? I can half understand it on an evening because people might have an early start at work the next day, but don't understand why people do it on a Saturday. After a Saturday macth why exactly are people in a rush to leave - rushing back to watch X factor or somet?

the atmosphere at away games always seems better than at home.the singing is usualy ok.people who want to sing are all together which is the way it should be in an ideal situation.

I agree 100% rovers return, i've been to practically every away game this season and mostly every ground has had shit home support just as bas as ours with double and in some cases treble the amount of home fans! The only home support that impressed me was at the Hawthorns and they have a singing section next to the away fans, they are up near the top and they play attacking pacy attractive football (at times).

The problem we have is if we introduce a singing section it will leave the rest of the ground deserted even worse than now, i'm sick of this \"lack of atmosphere\" topic after every game just as much as i'm sick of the actual lack of atmosphere itself, our support at home is beyond embarrassing we all know that.

you are spot on at the forest game loads were leaving well before end and at half
time they go for something to eat and drink 5 mins before half time whistle
and come back 5 mins after restart of game the forest game must have been one of the
most exciting games of the season players where up for it most of the supporters
up for it why do some do this ?

Personally Blackpools impressed me the most from last season and they have the lowest attendance in the league.

Blackpools was good. Well impressed. I'm struggling to think of any other. I sat with the Newcastle fans at St James Park and they just moaned and moaned.

What's wrong with moaning?

I get into trouble for moaning at home and attending the match enables me to return to my default condition, moaning about useless primadonna players, referees, linesmen, stewards, ticket prices, pies etc, surrounded by fellow moaners who are just as disgruntled as I am.

In fact, our (Leeds)recent run of crap form has been quite endearing, as the \"newcomers\", who have got carried away by the winning streak upto Christmas, have been reminded what football is really all about.

Happiness is a temporary condition, occasionally interupting long periods of misery.

And I'm content wi that!

I wonder if Blackpool's would seem so good if they had equal stands and the away fans weren't uncovered next to a covered stand?  I somehow doubt it.
