I don't think anyone is moaning bout the price Keith, it's that they have been given 4 weeks to put the money up for early bird when everyone was expecting to have until the end of may at least. As an example Cat C family of four (2 adults, 1 x 17-20 + 1 x 12-16)  have an increase of £170 if they don't pay up in the next four weeks from £885 to £1055. For families budgeting to pay before the end of may they see it as a kick in the teeth by the club.

One thing that gets me is how one person can pay £280 and another £440 to watch to same team playing.  The Keepmoat has been designed so that you have a good view from any given seat so why the considerable difference?

I've got a idea, make all adult season tickets £350 . . . . .

 ;)

Some ridiculous logic going on here.

You have a ST for the cheapest seats in our ground. Your mates appear to have chosen some of the most expensive in their ground.

At Sheffield Wednesday, the cheapest Kop STs this season were about £320 if bought early.

Don't know what the Scunny ST prices were, but since the cheapest seats at Glanford Park are £15-16, I'm guessing your mate doesn't have a ST there. More likely he's in the West Stand - the most expensive seats with the best view.

At Leeds, the price you quote is for relatively expensive seats down the side of the pitch.

At Derby, the cheapest ST, bought early was £320.

Look at some counter examples. I could get a ST in the cheapest seats at for example, Cardiff (£329) or Leicester(£345) for next season for less than I will pay for mine at the KM (£380).  I could have got a ticket on the Kop at Bramall Lane this season for less than I paid for mine this year. Does that mean we should be reducing prices?

Compare like-with-like if we're going to have a sensible discussion.

The proof of the pudding of course will be in the take-up. I strongly suspect that the club has shot itself in the foot by giving such a short deadline and, in particular, hitting the poorer fans in ther Cat C seats.

A tenner says there's a sudden change of plan when ST sales are woeful during March.

I agree totally mate, i was just making the point that we have it good, and although i disagree with how DRFC have gone about putting the prices up, i appreciate we are a Championship club and thus we should only fair be paying championship prices.

Apparantly John Ryan is to explain the reasons tonight on radio sheffield, should be inetresting.....

I wasnt comparing like for like, i was just pointing out what other season ticket holders i know pay, for clubs that are currently all below us.

I pay £280 in a stadium where there liteally isnt a bad view in the house, i used to sit in the west stand just off the centre line. I actually prefer the view where we are now top row, right in the corner of the south east stand, plus (as a bonus only, its/was alot cheaper)

Some clubs like the ones i mentioned have a massive difference in views from sitting around the ground, ours doesnt so paying more makes sense for them to get a view compariable to sitting anywhere in ours.

It should have been the same price across the ground from day 1, something that was mentioned on here quite alot, looks like that is goind to happen eventually and probably is the right step, but not in the huge jump that DRFC seem to be proposing.

In the corners by definition you have poorer views than, for example, a seat on the halfway line. In the corner, you are the best part of 150m away from the far corner flag. At the halfway line, you are no more than 70m or so from any part of the pitch. You see more detail and have a better view of the overall action.

Pretty much all grounds with filled-in corner design have lower prices in the corners than in other parts of the ground.

That includes Old Trafford, Wembley, and the examples of Cardiff and Leicester that I gave earlier.

We have made an extraordinary decision in pricing the corner seats at the same level as those further up the touchline or behind the goal. it defies simple economics. Who in their right mind is going to choose to pay top whack for the worst seats in the house, when they can have a better seat for the same price?

The only sensible economic rationale for doing this would have been if the ground was regularly sold out, with a queue of people prepared to pay higher prices just to get their hands on ANY ticket.

As I say, the proof will be in the ST sales for the corners over the next few weeks. I suspect that many people will find it really difficult to stump up the cash at such short notice, when they had been expecting (like in previous seasons) to have until the end of May to find the money. If the sales are poor in March, expect to see swathes of empty corner seats next year, or a sudden back-tracking by the club in April.

Did you hear the snippet on the 8.20 sport this morning on radio Sheffield? Said basically that the club is at a crossroad and the directors had put £6 million in over the past 3 years. Needs the fans to do their bit if we want to push on next season and try and get to the Prem.

I've been reading all these threads about the season tickets with some amusement. Did anyone really expect the club to go about things any differently? It's deja vu to me.

Would anyone have the balls to tell John Ryan personally that he's made a big mistake? The fact that \"Gartom\" didn't have a clue this was coming tells you everything about how the VSC and fans in general are being treated. People can bleat on here until they are blue in the face but is anyone going to do something about it? i.e What about a fans delegation meeting up with Mr Ryan et al to put our views across? The simple fact is that we've got no voice and the powers that be know this. If supporters are genuinely upset then the only way to resolve matters is through direct action.

I disagree, in the first season at the keepmoat, we tried every part of the ground (aside the away end), and our group all preferred the corner in particular teh south east one, the best part of it is having a full apect vision in front of you, i dont have to look left and right every 2 seconds, i dont have to lean forward when the balls gone out in the corners when everyone else does the same. Basically if our season tickets was the same price as say our old west stand seats then i wouldnt want to move back, as our seats in my eyes are the best (plus theres actually some atmosphere where we ar esat, theres nowt in the west/east mid stand.

My perfect view...

Bloody big wow, thats pocket money for a millionair and 2 x billionaires. If i had the sort of money they had it wouldn't bother me at all because i love my club. The fact is that since an accident a few years ago i'm now disabled and have to find money for 4 x st's in 4 weeks when i was budgeting to pay at the end of may or pay a shedload more because the club are inept at giving fans decent notice on st prices.

The wording Ryan likes to use is INVESTED. Now they invest by buying shares in DRFC, so its not dead money, yes i appreciate the value of the shares can rise or fall, but the fact remains it is not dead money.

Also, Ryan refers to \"Directors\" putting in 6 million over last 3 years, is That JR and KM2 alone, or ALL the board en bloc. If the former trio then \"Thank you \" to them, and why the hell are the other board members there. If the latter is the case, then 6 million spread throughout the board, over those years takes a little of the \"Gloss\" away from the \"Main 3\".
