Sheff Utd lose appeal
« on March 10, 2010, 02:59:54 pm by AbsolutDRFC »
Cardiff have been given an extra 56 days to see off the High Court judgement, that takes them to around May 5th; 3 days after the end of the regular season....

So if they are placed in administration at that point; would they lose 10 points?

And what odds on Cardiff finishing 6th and Sheff Utd finishing 7th...

Another summer of legal wranglings. Great!

well, usually if u go into administration after a certain date (during the season), the points get taken off at the start of next season, so i can only imagine cardiff would start next year on minus 10 if that was to happen, rather than them coming off once the season has finished.

Correct me. I'm sure someone will. They would get 10 points knocked off for this season and 15 points for next.

The extra reduction for not calling in the administrator earlier than the March deadline.

However, Cardiff and Southends scenario is different, as with Portsmouth. HMRC are going for the clubs due to unpaid tax and VAT. So in theory the clubs can be wound up irrespective or whether they go in to administration.

HMRC are peed off becasue if a club goes in to administration, they go down the pecking order as a non-football creditor, and perhaps rightly so, are seeking full payment.

Hence these High Court hearings are outside any process to put the club in to administration. Certainly Ridsdale is playing Russian roulette with the tax man ! Who will win ??
