Best Player in the World?

With the world cup coming up I have been wondering who the best players in the world are at the moment.

Surely rooney and messi miles apart from other players right now.

Hard to split the two for which 1 is better though

You can feel the crowd draw breath evry time Messi gets the ball, the anticipation etc

Rooney is outstanding though...watch him get injured for the world cup

Copps for me! Seriously though Rooney takes it for his strength it adds a different dimension which others can't match.  I heard Jimmy Arnfield on the radio some while back stating that Rooney was the closest thing he'd seen to Alick Jeffrey, some accolade that! A reminder to the majority of us who I guess never had the privilege to see Alick play just to how good King Alick actually was
