My mate just sent me this... It's to him and his two brothers from thier Dad - all lifelong Leeds supporters, after last night's defeat at Millwall.... Brilliant.
\"This will definitely be my final communication re Leeds!! Ever!!
Based on last night's showing (I refuse to use the word \"performance\") I seriously think they will not win another game this season and from being near certainties to go up less than 3 months ago with the play off contenders a country mile behind the first 2 at the time (Leeds and Charlton), I predict that Leeds will even miss out on the play offs. I'm being deadly serious here. The most spectacular implosion in the history of sporting life in the UK if not world wide. Seriously.
As it's my last communique of any sort whatsoever about this damned club, I'll take the opportunity to make a few comments about individuals masquerading as paid footballers in the Leeds shirt last night.
Ankergren - Useless. At fault for both goals but left horribly exposed by the defence. Dave's long-held analysis is spot on. He doesn't command the box as any half reasonable goalie would and this is the main reason for the wholesale jitters in defence. With Higg's long term injury still a problem when the transfer window came Grayson should have gone out and bought (not loaned) a proper goalie. Grayson's fault.
Hughes - Has been a disaster waiting to happen all season and it took place last night in spades. Quite apart from his slowness (he makes Ian Harte look like Bolt!) was it just me who noticed that when their second goal scorer turned Hughes in the corner he not only didn't try to tackle/foul him and just ambled back. Gave up in other words. Shouldn't wear the shirt ever again but he'll be there at Norwich you watch - one of my reasons for saying they're doomed. Grayson's fault. Hughes isn't a full back by trade, is very slow in thought and movement and gets caught out in nearly every game he plays. Leeds should have bought 2 proper full backs in the window. Please don't anybody tell me that Crowe's a full back and should be in instead. He's as bad if not worse than Hughes. What's the betting that Crowe plays at Norwich - see White comments following. What's the betting also that Hughes plays at Norwich.
Naylor. His legs have gone, completely gone. Snail-like slow, always hoofs it and should never wear the shirt again. Never ever thought I'd say this but I'd prefer to see Michalik and even Marquez in the team from hereon but then it'll be back to the direness of MK Dons away last season. Another good reason to believe we (sorry they) wont win again this season.
Bromby. With a half decent goalie I think Bromby would be OK, certainly in the absence of Kisnorbo the best centre half on the books. Speaks volumes I suppose for the lack of quality generally.
White. Oh dear or dear. All those 606's clamouring for his inclusion for months and when he gets the chance against Soton and again last night completely blows it. May be a decent footballer technically but has absolutely no idea how to defend. Positional sense - doesnt have any, and he cant tackle to save his life. Will never make it as a pro above League 2 and should be encouraged to seek employment at that level without further ado. However will be in the squad for Saturday and might even be in the side. Nuff said.
Doyle. Very limited player. Until last night, and contrary to most 606ers, I thought he did a job and was one of the few to at least put his foot in now and again. Last night he was utterly anonymous and on the odd occasion that he got the ball he always gave it back to a Millwall player. Another who should have played his last game for Leeds but who, because he's the only one of his type in the squad. will continue to be a regular.
Johnson. Utter disgrace. Have people forgotten his appalling attitude at Oldham last season? He should have been shown the door there and then. Didn't give a monkey's last night and I bet he's a very bad influence in the dressing room.
I could go on in much the same vein but I'm fed up so I wont except to say that the only player with enough skill and the right attitude is Snodgrass and he'll be off before next season.
I fear Leeds are doomed. Doomed to be forever in the lower reaches. At best where they are now. At worst who knows, but only the extreme optimists amongst Leeds supporters (and there remain a considerable number of those despite whats hitting them in the face) would rule out the further ignominty of relegation to league 2 (Division 4 in effect).
I am increasingly conscious that you are all Leeds supporters because I was for many years before you came into this world. Along with a good number of completely disenchanted 606ers I have finally and for good decided to call it a day as a Leeds fan. All that lies ahead is further disappointment, the occasional sign of something better only for that to prove to be yet another false dawn, dwindling gates, no money, other supporters constantly ramming the failures down our throats (you used to be a big club) and above all else the sickening sight of players wearing a shirt that used to be worn by really great players like Bremner, Giles, Charlton, Gray, Clarke and all the rest. Future supporters (and there wont be that many when Leeds struggle to maintain mid table Div I mediocrity next season), will NEVER enjoy the experiences that I have had as a Leeds supporter over the years (and you to a lesser extent) and I feel sorry for them.. The present bunch of wasters that are called players of this once great club do not deserve so much loyalty. They give nothing in return. Absolutely nothing. If you all decide to continue with your support I admire your loyalty but have to question your rationality. Leeds have never been an easy team to support. Now they are impossible. For your future sanity and general well being I would be happy if you washed your hands of them starting NOW but if you don't Nick at least will remain a supporter in the knowledge that in future he wont have to watch Leeds on the box (but that will be hardly ever particularly in Div 2) with his Dad ranting and raving from the adjoining chair - sorry about last night Nick but never again.
One final thought. If Leeds lose on Saturday (and I'll give any takers odds of 10 to 1 that they lose and odds of 5 to 1 that they lose by at least 3 clear goals) then Grayson (who, sad to say., has flattered to deceive and cannot possibly succeed as manager at Leeds - McAllister was sacked for less) will either be sacked or will resign next Monday.
A disillusioned, disappointed, demoralised, devastated, duped (feels like it), damaged (beyond repair!), defeated, ex-supporter who will NOT be watching Gillette Soccer Special on Saturday or thereafter (either on his own or in the company of Nick!) and will NEVER contemplate visiting Elland Road ever again. Like the Monty Python parrot sketch, Leeds are an ex-club.
Dad.\"

and I'LL give anybody odds of 10-1 that if they get promoted he'll be back again at elland road next season, and 5-1 that he'll be at the first match after they win 1. 1-2 on that he checks the result himself after the norwich match.
