Never mind, worse things happen at sea.

is that not like wasting money?

Championship football assured for next season.
JR not getting the crowds he needs to break even and now has extra wages to pay.
Not much chance of signing JET anyway (even if wanted)

Why not give the young uns a go ? The crowd atmosphere would be more positive if a young lad was playing surely.

But he is a young lad...granted not one of ours, but he's been loaned out to gain first team experience and he adds a different dynamic to our side.

If this had been announced prior to the Sheff U game everyone would probably saying it was fantastic.

We need bodies to get us through the end of the season, the squad depth is decreasing with all the players out on loan.

I suppose SOD is trying to cement a relationship with Wenger at Arsenal . They have a pool of promising young players who could be loaned out next season to clubs  with  a Manager who can be  trusted to develop the youngster in the right way .

Surely Arsenal would pay JET's wages, as after all, it will help them out alot in the long term if he develops well here?

Good news. He continues his development. Has a good pre-season with Arsenal and jins up again with us next season, stronger, fitter and wiser !

That Brian is spot on, and that's exactly why this type of loan deal is right for the club, it'll be a small outlay for alot of future potential next term.

Perhaps we might be getting him next season as well for the whole campaign, who knows?  They sent Bendtner to Ipswich for a full season.

Maybe we're paying a very small percentage of his wages. Maybe JR took this decision with an eye on what could happen between ourselves and Arsenal next season or the season after.

All that we can be sure of is if it's costing us anything at all JR has done the maths and decided that, one way or another, it's in the best interest of the club.
