I'm not sure Blackwell will survive this one, which makes it a bad thing in that respect.

If they get a new manager then Billy will almost certainly go back there and take his chance to impress in the summer, the only glimmer of hope would be if the new manager is from within (Gary Speed) and he shares Blackwell's 'judgement.'

what might keep blackwell at the lane is that the blades are still touting
play off possible spot

and when you take into consideration how many players have made their debuts, also
put into the mix the amount of injured players that have been on treatment table and out of the picture this season

if blackwell had had a much more settled starting 11 the chance is sheff itd would be much higher in league placings.

if the powers at shaff utd give in to fan power then blackwell will be out,but there still is some fans who see the above and take onboard how hard it's been for baldes.

if the board think same way blackwell to be manager next term,with billy maybe in no mans land if rovers cant/will not take the plunge

I dont think they will get rid, their chairman is a sensible chap that will see all the injuries etc and that Blackweel been more unlucky than $hit. They cant afford to keep sacking managers that dont perform either.

His performance as manage last season with a settled side speaks volumes, but so be it. We're still rightfully the best team in yorkshire tonight!

Not sure he'd want it Rigo, it's clear they are cutting their cloth like never before, and he's not so far out of touch with the masses that he doesn't pick up on the vibes.  Interestingly, he mentioned in an interview last week, about how people don't see the big picture when it comes to the difficulties that have beset KB.  I'm not paraphrasing here just making the point that he is not unaware of the weight of expectation that all managers of the 'mighty Blades' are under.

Repeating myself now but I'm not sure he would want it.

hasn't it been reported that if Sheff U dont go up this season they are going to have to reduce the wage bill. Henderson, Camara, Creswell, Ward, Evans and Sharp, they can't all play. Whoever the manager is I would be pretty sure that Utd will take offers for any of them and after his season with us Billy will be pretty saleable.

Sheff Utd's problem this season has been injuries. Take them out of the equation they would be up there, no issues. I cant see Bakewell Tart getting boot. They cant afford to sack him and he has the ability, just not had the luck.

Not strictly true. As quite a few on here have mentioned wage bills etc it is obvious what is happening at Bramall Lane. I have it on very good authority that the private business's that Kevin McCabe is involved in are taking all of his time and money, therefore leaving very little to go around at the Blades.

Why would wages have anything to do with how the team performs. Haven't Sheff Utd used something close to the region of 40 players this season, a hell of a lot of loan signings which is extra money being spent in wages.

I and not a bakewell fan but you have to admit with a stable team last year they rockets up the league and he not had that fortune of a unchanged side all season.

Look at the players they've had on loan.  I think Nyron Nosworthy and Steve Simonsen are slightly different to the likes of Jordan Mutch.  No offence to him, but the Blades have had proven Premier League players on loan this season, it's no excuse.

My point isn't the quality of players on loan, it was that they have still spent money. The main problem in team consistency. They haven't had a settled side all season. Thats the problem. Not Bakewell Tart.

Again that isn't correct. They have hardly spent a penny on transfer fee's and it was only 12 months ago their parachute payments ended, plus they collected £30m from West Ham in compensation. How much of that have they spent? Nothing!

At the risk or repeating myself there are bigger financial things going off at SUFC than what we can see from the outside.

They are paying out in wages on so many loan signings. They didn't get the full 30 million as it is spread over many years. Yeah they have more financial worries on other things but they cant afford to let him go and its not his fault with injuries.

All teams have injuries, we have lost Brian Stock for three quarters of the season, lost three centre halves for half the season, in fact Henderson of Sheff U damaged the arm of one of the centre halves. We have lost Shackell for the last two months. We have had Woods out for three months and still not back fully fit. We have had a centre forward out for one and half years a left back for the same time. Without all thses injuries we would have been in the play offs now. Sheff U would still be behind us. Blackwell has proved with more resources than Sean over the last two years he is not good enough. So danunited82 he is not good enough and he will hopefully not be sacked and one of his best assests who will be the leading goal scorer of all the Sheff u players will not return.

My points are that he hasn't had consistency in the squad this season and most managers can cope but Blackwell cant, I just think his chairman will see that its been bad luck with injuries. We all know that SOD is better with less resources than most managers and we've had loads of injuries granted.

When Blackwell didnt mess with the squad last season they flew up the league. This season he's had no choice to change it all the time, needing players to gel, which the haven't and they have suffered. Loan players need time to gel. Look at the stick JET and Mutch and Ward got at times from our fans.  

I'm no lover of Blackwell, but He's not the worst manager they have had and I dont think they will be in a position to sack him financiall. Thats all I'm saying.

I certainly aint no Blunt. I've been a Rover many years before Conference days and for many years to come. Hence the name danrover82
