Waide Fairhurst

Now I know i'm not the only one who feels that Waide should be given a chance until the end of the season when fit (everyone loves to see a home-grown player), where do you think SOD sees that he fits in with our current system given the type of player he is?

Personally, I would love to see him swap places with JET and for once we may not play with 10-men for the majority of the game!

I reckon he has the potential to be a massive player. He needs to be nearer the first team though. I think his chance to shine will be next season, especially if Billy goes back.

But has he enough in his locker to be the main focal-point of our attack as Sharp has?  That's my point, for me I am not sure that at the moment he has..in time maybe but it is a large ask to put solely on the shoulders of a young lad!

I'm not sure what the idea is with Waide because at this age Billy Sharp was at Scunny banging them in. We either need to start playing him or get him sent out on loan again because he is just going to end up like another Nelly at this rate and the lad has got a lot of talent!

I think he can play in the JET role or Sharp role. Before he went out on loan he scored 2 goals in 2 games, great record for a player just brought up through youth system and straight in to the championship.

Waide is an inch taller and three years younger. In many ways he is very similar to Billy Sharp and this is the time he needs to start showing his potential.
I regard him as a real talent for the future. I hope he keeps fit and be scoring 20+ goals every season he stays at Donny.

Fairhurst is strong, reasonably quick, not afraid to shoot on sight to good effect - in a lot of ways he reminds me of Wayne Rooney. Obviously I'm not saying they're the same calss of player but he has a lot of the attributes to become a great forward.
