Very clear in JR book....
« on April 03, 2010, 07:32:35 am by Norfolk N Chance »
If anyone was in any doubt the clear intention is to purchase the stadium and JR also speaks very fondly of Peter Davies describing him as a man with a lot of common sense !

And making an enemy of Davies is not in JR's or the club's interest.

That is quite possibly the most ludicrous thing I have heard. Davies is a cock end of the highest order. Some kind Unison members invited me and some of my fellow strikers to do a leafleting session and bucket collection to aid our strike fund outside the council offices back in November. He came out throwing his weight around saying we were trespassing (whilst stood on a public highway!) and threatened us with the police, who duly came and left as fast when I reminded them that under human rights legislation they had to facilitate peaceful protest and it was our right to assemble to do this. And this clown is running our town? He doesn't know his arse from his elbow!

I agree, but kissing his arse in his book is hardly the best move either.

Let them play kiss arse, until we get the stadium. Interestingly the Mayor has recently come out in the Press praising Ryan to the hilt.

I think Ryan is far smarter than our Mayor

Would that be the same Mayor who was democratically elected by the people of Doncaster?
Not offering my support for the individual himself, just the process

Rovers buy Stadium.

Ryan runs for Mayor in next mayoral elections.

How does that sound?

Can't fault either bloke on the matter in question. Peter Davies does speak common sense, Doncaster has recieved praise from all corners of this island for our elected mayor. You just had to listen to the radio 2 Jeremy Vine phone in last year to see how jealous other towns/cities are. Have a read of the blogs and forums and you'll see how popular Davies is. Oh and by that I mean blogs and forums without political bias.

I think some people are working on the mis-guided assumption that the Mayor is going to sanction the sale of the stadium on the cheap. If and when a deal is done, I think the Council tax payers of the town would expect a fair return on their capital investment!  Kissing arse doesn't really come into it!

On a personal level I think that's what Dick and Liddy are on the board for!

I think you will find support for all political parties on here.  What is telling is that the vast majority, politics apart, thought Winter was shite and now the vast majority think Davies is shite.

I've said it for a while, the American Mayoral model is intrinsically flawed in that it gives too much power to one person.

Having a Mayor does have it's good points though. At least decisions tend to be made quicker as opposed to council members holding meeting after meeting at the publics expense, and having no desire to rush into final decisions as their expenses increase with every meeting.

Do we really need any more arse kissers?
Surely there are more than enough on this forum.

And as anyone knows Radio phone-ins are notorious for people airing well constructed, carefully considered and soundly reasoned viewpoints.

The Mayor is a clown, but as folk have pointed out for future benefits to the club it pays for JR to stay on the right side of him.
